Scott was complaining because the Lions' sub was just a wee bit better than the Cats' sub 🤣🤣🤣

The hilarious thing is the Lions had just made a substitution then lost a player to injury so it's not as if they had an advantage.

Geelong have now cancelled future mad Monday's

Scott hadn't made his sub yet when one of his best players clearly broke his arm.

Guess which player Scott subbed off?

Wrong! It was not the player with the broken arm.

Hahahahaha what an absolute dickhead of a decision

Practically I have no problem with the bounce being removed, philosophically I feel sad that another piece of pageantry and tradition is gone. The AFL is on a mission to become as generic as possible it seems.
It's completely unnecessary and a waste of time.

In which other sport are the officiators required to have a skill? They can barely get their decision making right.

Isn't this my point though? In no other sport. Hence saying it's sad that the game becomes more generic as a product even though I don't think it's a bad idea.

Polo? Ice Hockey?

(It's a good question, and they are the only two I can think of)

Boundary throw ins are next. At least there will be less of them next year.

And it will be interesting to see how clubs try and exploit last touch OOB.

While they’re ****ing around with the bounce can they at least increase the size of the circle by 5 metres or get rid of it all together? Give the big fellas some room
Why ??
So ruckman can jump into each other more & we have more injured ruckman ??

Nice - now we won't have the stupid debate every week (that I admit in my weaker moments I have dabbled in) about 'getting the sub wrong'
Yeah gotta admit it’s pretty funny watching keyboard warriors think they know more than our coach

Your gonna see alot of desperate attempts to keep the ball in which is what we all want. It will force clubs to play less around the boundary (Collingwood).

No centre bounce next year? Bring in an 8 foot beanpole to win the hitout (tap to rover who clears the ball into our F50.

Might as well take it in turns to restart play from the centre after each goal / stoppage. This is heading the way of basketball.

Can't wait for the sub to be reinstated again. It was ditched back when Suckling was still playing for us and was indeed the last sub in the 2015 GF.

Something something, what if a player gets concussion mid-game? Better bring back the sub rule.... but wait why limit it to concussions? All over again. I give it 3 years max before it's back on the agenda.

A lot of chat about Reeves now with the change of ruck rules.

However I just can’t see our best 23 with both Meek and Reeves in the side. We are trying to find a way to fit Dear / Lewis / Gunston and Chol into the side and the only way that occurs is if Chol spends more time in the middle

Has to be just one of Reeves / Meek?

Brisbane just proved that it’s all about the smalls in September
I think this new rule definitely suits Noodle over Meek. Has a much better reach and is better at hitting to advantage. Watching him at Box Hill this year, and he definitely improved his marking and forward craft.
Clubs are definitely going to come hard for him now though.

That’s because broken arm Cameron was more impactful than 3 possession Stanley :D

Not a good thing.
Playing the boundary opens up the corridor for rebounding (which collingwood got sliced up with)

To be honest even without the ruck changes Reeves was still a better option than Meek as a pure tap ruck this year.

But Meek has a lot more bows in his quiver (more mobile, physical impact, more of a pure footballer, etc) that will still make him our number 1 ruck choice in 2026.

Reeves is very handy to have as a backup ruckman though.

I can see the Hawks giving Meek a few more breaks next year to keep him fresh for the finals (Lloyd was looking a bit cooked towards the end) which will give Reeves and opportunity to show how much he has improved.

which is where they first lost the game by selecting him instead of a Stewart like defender like Bews - Scott isn't galf as bright as they claim him to be
