Saints very active but it looks like a big shuffle. Like that offseason where Essendon got Mackay, Gresham, Duursma and Goldstein. Like, not a huge change in what it does to their on field performance overall

Yep it is. They can make as many waves as they want. But they won't be relevant in our lifetimes and I say that with a degree of sadness but a tonne of respect.Saints very active but it looks like a big shuffle. The players are different but the similarity is doing a bunch of trade and recruitment activity and not actually improving by very much.Silvagni is not McKay much better net effect. I'd argue McKay is a negative effect.
TDK is not Goldstein.
Flanders is not Duursma.
Ryan is not Gresham.
Saints base list is and was very different to Essendon's.
It's really not the same thing at all.

I could be wrong - but I think Rossy has turned into Crazy Vossy
Who are their top six midfielders?Probably top 4
Who are their top six midfielders?
I just don’t see it. They’ll struggle to make the 8
That's a bottom 6 midfiled.TDK, NWM, McCrae, Flanders, Garcia, Windhager and Clark.
Then you have Wilson who can play more at stoppages in the future.
Plus Philipou and Hall. Henry will be rolled through there but that's if he can get his body right.TDK, NWM, McCrae, Flanders, Garcia, Windhager and Clark.

Whats the Dogs best 6 midfielders? That's a bottom 6 midfiled.
English, Kennedy, Freijah and Sanders + Davidson also expect West and Arty Jones to get more time.Whats the Dogs best 6 midfielders?
Bont, Libba, Richards and then who?
Yeah, sound decisionWe decided not to throw Vossy to the wolves, so we are trying something a little different.![]()
Yeah the respect is positivelyYep it is. They can make as many waves as they want. But they won't be relevant in our lifetimes and I say that with a degree of sadness but a tonne of respect.
did we not improve from 2023 to 2024 to 2025? Only measure we fail on is not winning a flag. Very different to Crazy VossyYou could say the same thing about Hawthorn. Getting players in and been active at the trade table but not improving much. Sam Mitchell is turning into crazy Vossy.
There's no real substance to your posts here.
What if the Saints finish between 12-6th again next year after all their chest beating this off season? It's a very, very big swing we're taking, and the jury is obviously out on whether it will finally win us another flag or blow up in our faces.
One thing you can say is that it won't be "no mans land" for the next 3-5, given that if this gamble succeeds we could reasonably finish in the top bracket for a sustained period, something we've never done in our history and potentially build a dynasty. And f it fails we'll be broke with a ruined list and Ross out on his ass, starting from worse than scratch.
Wouldn't finishing 6th represent real progress and therefore be positive? Surely winning a final is an acceptable step in the right direction for a team that finished 12th this yearWhat if the Saints finish between 12-6th again next year after all their chest beating this off season?
