It does seem that way, sadly.

I post this again, Clarko's very first address to the players in Nov 22. Look at how sure, concise, articulate he is. Not a single umm or ahh, not second guessing himself, not watching his words so he doesn't upset anyone. This is the coach we hired. This ain't the coach we currently have.

That’s a really astute observation, I remember watching that and thinking we’re going to win a flag in 3 years. Of course the Hawthorn saga derailed that along with a few other things. He’s a shadow of his former self, the vision, the drive, the confidence they’re all diluted

NO IFS OR BUTTS

JORDON Butts is expected to remain at Adelaide after attracting interest from Victorian clubs ahead of his free agency season in 2026.

I dont feel like the messaging has changed much.

But yeah, Jy Simpkin is looking like an idiot as this trade period progresses. Even in that Clarko address, its always been about the team and unfortunately we still have personalities that need to be reminded that if you want a flag, if you want a premiership, play your role. No matter where it is on the ground.

You win a flag, you're on top of the world. There's nothing better than that (other than winning multiple). Midfield minutes mean jackshit if it means you win a premiership. That's priceless. Need the players to be clear on that.

I'd take LDU getting it 25 times if it meant he did all he could the other way and gave us every possible chance. I'd take Sheezel's classy disposal and composure if it meant we could win more games. Who cares about the 54 touches. I'd take FOS getting back to help out and provide some elite run if it meant he could have a premiership medal around his neck. The list goes on.

Make sacrifices for the team, the flags will come. We can't leave it to someone else.

...Id be for it at the right price... (Edit -My mind stopped reading here at first pass).....
What's the right price these days? $400-500?

Take me back to 2004 for the long weekend special of 4 for £150!!! 😆😮🫣😎. Finish work Friday, buy new clothes on the way to work Tuesday....

It's almost like he was embroiled in a soul shattering human rights saga that took its toll personally and professionally.

But nah, its Jen and Sonya...

Yeah big success that was.
that's not really the point. your comment was "Daniel Howe the only player drawn to playing under clarko.."

Clarko also bought Shiels over and he was certainly more of a success than Howe.

Did this campaigner really just say we would back our defenders in when we have the worst rated defense in the league?

Am I in some kind of ****ed up fever dream?

It’s almost as if we tried and went through all available defenders this trade period and they all said no thanks!

Gee so glad we avoided that!

Why isn’t anyone asking Brady whether we have anymore trade targets?
I don't want Brady telegraphing anything in the media like last trade period.
The less questions and talking about trade targets with media, the better off we are.

And at least by saying at stuff about the five key backs and backing them in, as silly as that is, at least it signals we aren't desperate to trade and overpay for any key back that is available.
Given the pursuit of Jai Serong, we may be looking at more a medium/hybrid defender.

Maybe we shouldn't announce the players we're after 3 weeks before the trade period
We didn't announce it. Barrett suggested that we go after Murray or Butts in his sliding doors column, then all of a sudden the rest of the media reports that North are interested in Butts a few weeks later.
We may have asked the question, but get the sense Crows wanted to keep as depth and extend him.

I thought the whole idea of a list re-build was that you draft a heap of young kids, endure some tough years while you give them time to develop together, and then reap the benefits when they're all in their prime. We de-listed the likes of Atley and McMillan and Dumont because we were sick of finishing mid-range and not competing in finals, fast forward six years and we're losing our collective sh!t and sacking the list manager because we miss out on Jai Serong and Jordan Butts.
