The NRL continue to fudge their ratings, hold their Grand Final at night and on a sports free weekend and proclaim that their teams are worth more than AFL teams. Recently, a study showed that the Penrith Panthers are a more 'valuable club' than Collingwood :confusedv1: Surely this is a joke. We live rent free in all NRL commentators heads - they are continuously comparing the codes.

I think its time to consign the NRL to history and place our Grand Final on exactly the same time as theirs (or the same day or at least on the same weekend). We shouldn't give them a free hit. We also should be calling out the new 'average viewers' ratings system that favors the NRL rather than showing the reality of the numbers.

Additionally, we should be pressuring the Federal and NSW Governments in their bias in funding for the NRL. The fact that the Federal Government paid millions to build a NRL in another country is utterly ridiculous. The SCG is a crumbing shame - one stand is up to standard while the rest of the ground is in worse shape than most suburban grounds. Every other state in the country has a modern stadium or is about to build one. How can the largest (or second largest) city in the country provide minimal money for its largest code yet spend multiple millions on a dying sport like League?!

It's time the AFL put their foot on the neck of the pathetic rival and prove beyond any argument that AFL is leagues ahead.

The two leagues should both just forget one another exists and go about their own codes independently.

AFL is constantly preoccupied with what the NRL is doing and posturing against them as are they.

It’s pathetic. Should just pretend the other doesn’t exist and focus on their own backyards for a change.

We shouldn't care what the NRL does. We have our sport, they have theirs.
Although, sometimes it feels a bit sorry for elite AFL players that they dont have international competition. I wonder how good Nick Daicos would be at Soccer, could he make it in Europe. His life of course, not my business.

Daicos would be a bit too soft to be a soccer player.
I think if he liked soccer, he might give it a go at say age 27 after making his fortune but I assume he probably doesn't like it, prefers NBA of the other sports. If Tom Green thought he could make it perhaps he would give it a go.

I like both sports.

panthers owns 6 leagues clubs - cryptically titled ‘Panthers’ - how poor do you think the brand is going to be given that, and the fact that they’ve been the most successful professional team in one of the two biggest sporting codes in the country in the last 15 years?

I'll ask timokane
Just got off the phone with him
He said AFL is live or die sport
Meaning like a shark must keep moving
In order to survive. And thrive. Like a bee hive.
Always buzzing
Like 10 coffees and 8 red bulls
Dusty Martin used to play on such
Dane Swan too. They bought a pub together
Ran by bikies. But good blokes
Travis Clokes. Also on the take.
Played nrl for ST George. Nightingale.
And Brendan Gale. Discussed cross codes.
They answer is with Fode's. Named Gordon at St.kilda. St.kilda St George get it?
We're talking Morse codes. But the best is yet to come. Like Damian Drum. Had a sore thumb and a bottle of rum. Tastes yum when you chew some gum. They came to the agreement that in order for the afl to kill off NRL that we all need to chew some gum. That's what the holidays are all about. 3 guys sitting down chewing gum.

It’s interesting how the afl has far better attendance but nrl has better tv ratings
Neither can get away from their suburban roots.

Both sports are great and exciting but struggle to recognise the history of the sport outside the main suburban heartland.

Pretty simple. League is played in a moving line which means it’s actually better to watch on tv where all the action is covered in detail. AFL is played all over the ground with a lot of play going on off camera, which means there is real value in watching it live.
