Harvey Spawton-Guy sounds like he should be getting a goldie opening the batting for England in The Ashes.

The reason I put John Cena here was, well, just like the England batsmen, they can't seem to SEE anything either! {For anybody who doesn't understand this sign, its Cena saying "YOU CAN'T SEE ME"!:roflv1::roflv1:

I don’t think many on here were querying his talent. It’s more just, that another half forward was probably the last thing we needed from a list management point of view. Nonetheless, you can see young Hugo has plenty of potential with his class and athleticism.

Interesting regarding his ability to play in defence. We could really do with a lockdown back pocket (more than another half forward) who can play on those dynamic small forwards, but also provide some link up play and drive. He has the right athletic profile to suit that role.

Any idea where his favourite position is?
He (Hugo Mikunda) is the sort of kid that will play ANY role given to him, will apply himself full and will thrive. HB is where he has spent most time, so he will be at home there, but has the attributes to move up the ground. He will follow direction from the coaches to the letter and do everything required.

This assessment could just as easily have been written about Blake Drury

Jokes aside, I can see some determined running to present as an option in Hugo's clips. Plus sharp disposal and contested marking.

No disrespect to Blake but never understood the untapped upside we saw based on his vision. Not much evidence of zip or hit the spills at pace crumbing.

His AFL career panned out exactly as his U18 vision would've suggested.

It both disturbed and intrigued me why we rated a ~180cm player with no apparent weapons or standout characteristics so highly.

After reading our high rating of Drury, the initial viewing was certainly a "hmmmm...we may need to review this rating system we have "moment.

I think Drury's attributes were character-based - captain of VicMetro (iirc), determined to get the best out of himself etc etc.

Anythings better than will walker at pick 21...

Pleasant change and thanks for sharing. I think he could be one of those late picks that doesn't have any major flaws. We love our flawed footballers. Have wasted many picks on guys who are gifted. They either played in positions at Jnr level that they won't be playing at senior level. Or lack above average speed/ endurance.

Cooper Harvey is a great example the view on him AFL wide is he doesn't have a position to play. Has skills for sure.

This was a good video. Would like to see our media team do something like this next year.
A draft preview video would've been good to get fans excited for the draft, even if just general comments and not much draft strategy or key targets or needs are discussed in it to keep our draft intel secret.
But maybe they're a little over the feedback they've probably had the last five years and to member Q&A's lol.

What our 30 or 40 odd second "highlight" videos are not enough for you? Some are hard to please.

We must be the worst team in the comp with our post draft videos/articles/intel we give. Two weeks since the draft and you could be excused in forgetting who we actually drafted.

We gave up years ago trying to sell this club to it's current or new members/supporters.

Yeah. Disappointing. Demons did a draft preview video like most teams, hardly revealing, but more a "we've done a lot of work", "we're excited and we've got a few scenarios mapped out that might play out" etc etc.
Then they did a draft wrap for each night talking about the players. Then the behind the scenes video.

Sydney did one - said they rated Thredgold as a first round talent in it.

Yep saw that. * and Blues draft one's weren't too bad as well. * appeared to want Jevan or Kondo in round 2.
I suppose it's a bit more exciting when you have multiple top 10 picks, but even Cats put out a video.
We seem to only put out short Insta/TikTok vids, which I get, but a few long form clips wouldn't go astray.
Even having Will jump on a North youtube channel like Rhys Gieschen did before and after the draft would've been cool.

Yeah I’ve got a mate involved with some coterie group at the Dees and every year he goes to a pre draft rundown on who they are interested in and why and what might eventuate. Makes for interesting texts from him, even for me, during the draft. Not sure we do anything like that.

A lot of clubs appear to have done behind the scenes pre or post draft videos of some description.

I get that the focus last week would have been on the girls but the fact that nothing’s surfaced at this stage is disappointing.

Wow interesting. Whilst that's great for that group, the issue with that might be the leaking of draft intel if it gets out who they are interested in, but I suppose there's only so many names around the mark at each pick.
