Its why I've flipped on Goodwin after doubting him a fair bit last year, he has continually recruited players that fit the system he is building to maximize their strengths and minimize their weaknesses. Goody has a long way to go but he is going about it the right way now IMO
Yep. There is no single style of play that is the best. A good coach looks at his cattle and works out what style of play will get the best out of them.

Clarko is right up there with the greatest coaches in history, no one else is within a dozen bull’s roars of that, why is this even being debated?
I just did a very quick count. Correct me if I’m wrong, but Clarko has 4 flags to his name, 17 others combined have 5.
Clarko

More daylight
Yet more daylight.
Everyone else.

What a load of revisionist bullshit.

Put him on block, he only posts pro Richmond shit an doesn't have in good points about anything. You just end up arguing in multiple threads with an idiot who doesn't deserve an opinion heard.

I put him on block, just gonna ignore the crap he wrote about Richmond.

Clarkson has coached two straight sets exits which is something no other coach has done under the current finals format.

Not even Mark Williams achieved that in the early 2000's and his Port Adelaide sides were notorious for choking in finals.
Are they choking or is he managing to get them to play above themselves during the home and away just to make finals?

Hardwick....According to BF, Richmond's list is awful, but he still managed to win a flag with it.

I dont think Clarkson is under any challenge as the best coach.

From a neutral perspective whi has no axe to grind with the Tigers I dont get the "worst list" thing.

I do think you can make a case for Hardwicke as next best. He did innovate and turn necessity into a virtue in 2017 with a very effective small forward line.

He set a trend in backing off the intensity a bit and allowing the players to enjoy each others company. This seemed to create a supportive team culture and give the Tigers an advantage.

I went for Simpson because he has made multiple GF's and Hardwicke has not. With the Tigers finishing minor premieres 2017 doesn't look like a flash in the pan it's true. If they do well this year I might change my view.

If the question is currently, then it's hard to go passed what Simpson achieved with the Eagles in 2018.

Clarkson would be the answer if it was 2012-2015. But since then their have been better coaching performances. Hardwick would get the nod for 2017-PF 2018. Given the supposed group of trash he took to a flag and prelim which no one though was possible.

Simpson's flag was outstanding though, and this year we might see a new contender.

Clarkson hasn't been the best coach in any given year for a few years now, so it's certainly not him currently.

Pointless given everyone will vote for their own (Hence why Hardwick is on par with Clarkson).

It has to be Clarkson - the only alternative might be Fagan.

These 2 can actually change a game around noticeably ans seem to have a gameplan beyond 'give him the ball so he can get it to x'

I would be far from confident about Geelong supporters voting for Scott.

Anyway, Clarko for mine.
