How do you know that?

****ing Hell! Its uncontroversial. You yourself have said its club of mates down there - whether gender is a binary or a continuum does not affect how shit our forward entries are or whether or not we have got a regime of back slapping from Board to Coach and from Coach to players

If you think that is the problem I pity you. The Board holding the coaching group accountable for sub-standard performances and Brad dropping non-performers to the magoos is not affected by gender politics

No mate it's the overall modern softly approach to running a football club.

Ruthlessness is required and it's definitely absent in the modern day.

If you can't see that then I pitty you.

Ruthlessness is not gendered brother - Lucretia Borgia, Theodora, Olga of Russia, Eleanor of Aquitaine, Isabella, Catherine the Great etc etc etc. You are arguing against yourself. If you are suggesting that Millennials are not receptive of a spray and need to toughen up - that is something I can accept and it applies equally to men and women

Gender is male and female for all the practical purposes that apply to a discussion about our club.

When did being ruthless and socially ignorant become the same thing?

Another bizarre analogy.

I would have figured you for being smarter than to belong to the cult of "I am offended, so I am therefore correct".

100% flat out incorrect. Your examples are from the tails of the bell curve.

"Generally", men are much more ruthless than women. It's what makes them much more dangerous.

So the gender binary is central to a discussion about the relationship of the Board to the Coach and the Coach to the players - I don't get it.

if you are suggesting that Ben Brown speaking up on gender issues leads inevitably to shit performances - I don't get that either

Hey, you're the one that stated it isn't. I asked you how you knew that to be a fact.

No, I'm not.

You are more of a totalising gender theorist than Clem Ford. On your theory there is no aspect of life that is unaffected by gender. What is the impact of gender on accounting? I provide some example of ruthless women and you are forced back to gross generalisations. I can also give you myriad examples of ruthless women's teams.

Anyway you are just trolling me and this diversion is a ridiculous distraction to the thread

There was nothing gender based in my previous statement.

There's an element of self consciousness that the modern organisation must be progressive and stamp out traits that are typically criticized as toxic traits.
There is no room for this in a footy club.
It doesn't work.
If BS adopted his traits as a player to being a coach then we'd most likely be less critical.
We are talking about extremely talented blokes competing against other extremely talented blokes and the main difference being 5% between the ears determines the losers and the winner's.

It starts with our leadership. Our board are nothing more then a modern day Google office.

Under the remains of our old derelict grand stand was a boxing ring.
Rusted weights, and a smell of competitive masculinity.

Our high performance culture of aroma therapy with a flashy cinema watching a well edited clips of the weekends loss in comparison.
I'm not saying go back to the 90s but a well balanced combination is what's missing.

And yes a football club is a boys club and should be run quietly like a boys club.
Not to be concerned about what the general public would think if anything got out.

Yes, "generalisations". The statistics that really matter when analysing trends in large populations. The stuff that makes up the larger middle portion of the bell curve.

Next time you are doing photocopying at the university, pop over to the library and pick up an undergrad book on statistics, then wade through the piles of shit in the humanities section and dig out some stuff about male/female behavior traits that isn't politically motivated crap.

On the contrary, your fluffy ignorance cannot stand up to any rigor, so it's a good time for you to pull the rip cord, because I will slice you in to tiny little pieces if you continue with your ridiculous line of reasoning.

As respective groups, women and men in general have certain different behavioral traits. End of story.

I don't know what's worse.
The frustration experienced at North games or putting up with this toxic rubbish on every thread here.

You're another mentally soft individual, and therefore your opinions on leadership are worthless.

NORTH MELBOURNE

Room for improvement

See above. Jasper Pittard and Shaun Higgins were solid in the first half, and Ben Brown lifted in the second, but the rest of the Roos just weren’t good enough. Five players (Bailey Scott, Kayne Turner, Tom Campbell, Marley Williams and Ben McKay) had single-digit disposals.

Spot the writer who didn't watch the game. Imagine putting Marley in there when he towelled up Cameron all day until he went over on his ankle.

Hate to point out that North also had decades of playing like shit when it was run the way you seem to think is conducive to success. My hesitation is only because this is a puerile argument to be having at all.

Generally only the most ruthless women get themselves into a position to be selected by a football club and generally the most successful women in traditional "male dominated" roles have higher levels of testosterone than the general female population and as a result make more "male decisions" hence their ability to function in those roles.

Thatcher as well.

Yeah, I am not stating that it's impossible for a woman to do the required job, but where does that fit in with "inclusion" politics such as 50% gender quotas? Does the policy ensure in the fine print that ruthlessness and hormone analysis levels must be achieved in order to qualify? I'll bet everything that I own that it doesn't.

Thatcher as well.

LOL, she'd axe 75% of the w***ers down at Arden Street in her first day of office!!!

Again, this is a statistical outlier.

Tell you what I think.

The AFL shutting down Giantroo's youtube account is having a bigger effect on fan engagement than anyone at the club or beyond would have thought.

We've lost the most prolific and well-made club content in the country and in return have received...what exactly?
