maybe you should?

differing opinions makes the world go round :)

but I have nothing to add - I don't find those pursuits interesting, so why would I bother annoying people who do like them?

you are not making the world go round by constantly ragging on women's footy, you're just dragging your knuckles like the rest of the throwbacks

i don't care if you don't like it, but we are well aware you dont like it and that's all you have to add so we dont need to hear it again

If you actually had some "value add" with your posts it would be useful. Repeatedly posting about how you don't like AFLW doesn't add anything. We know you don't like it, so repeatedly stating that fact is just white noise at this point.

read my original post.
it was regarding people paying money to watch aflw, i said that very few would be willing to do that consistently because the product was still very poor.
i have no doubt if afl back this in in a decade the standard will be very good and you could charge people $5-$10 to watch it.

See, the second bit of your comment is actually positive and not just stating the same thing over and over.

Whereas these comments:
aflw has a feel goodness to it at the moment, but the product is still very poor.
i watched bits and pieces of the grand final, but it just bores me tbh.
i'd rather watch wnbl than aflw.

just tell us that you don't like AFLW, which we already knew.

i like people telling it as it is, not sugar coating things for political correctness reasons though. :thumbsu:

FAITH, you don't need to show us again that you're a grub, we have all known for a long time.

you're telling me, that the season that I have thoroughly enjoyed, the multiple games I've gone to (inc non-crows games) and that grand final on the weekend isn't actually a good product? and if you didn't have the cajones and the abiliity to see through sugar coated political correctness and let me know this fact I would have gone on to think the opposite based on my experience of enjoying the product?

thank you, Faith, now that you have told me, infact, that the product is actually poor, my eyes are now open to the waste of time I have participated in

please give my regards to Sam Newman and John Elliot when you convene on your next dinosaur convention

there is only really one person in my life who I am close to who loves footy but has said a number of times she doesn't like the 'girls playing footy' and they 'can't get into it' because it 'doesn't feel right'

and as much as it dismays me, that person is my 82 year old grandmother. She loves the Crows, but can't get into the womens

I don't hold it against her, though, as she really is a product of her generation - but she is 82 - even my grandpa enjoys it but she cant - maybe it's wrapped up in other things and symbolises everything that she wasn't able to do growing up as a young woman in the 1940s & 50s

but besides her, I haven't come across one footy lover who slags off the AFLW as much as Faith

I don't need to state the obvious any further.

playing the man, not the ball.
typical response...

you know it's ok to dislike something women are involved in without hating women right?

just like my dislike for aflx doesn't mean i dislike men, disliking aflw doesn't mean i dislike women.

i get where your gran is coming from but i have no issue with women playing afl, its just boring.
most people are fearful to voice this view because of people like you who are ready to rip them apart and call them female haters and dinosaurs etc.

in a decade or so, i have little doubt it will be a pretty good product to watch, but right now it's not.

Mate, I don't care if you don't like women's footy, it's a free world

Like I said, I dont like Rugby, (or women's rugby, by extension) but I don't go posting on bigrubgy about how boring it is

we just don't want to hear it anymore - it's not a 'discussion' if you say 'this is shit/boring/poor product' - where do you go from that? We're not going to try to change your mind if you are starting at that point. A discussion would be engaging in the league and say 'player x hasn't done enough in my opinion, they should change their role or bring in player y, who i think would be better suited' etc - you know, how it happens with the men's threads

also people aren't fearful of voicing their view that they think the game is shit, it happens all the time. The HS even published an article about John Elliot calling the game 'pathetic' when he was asked about Carlton making a GF - It's like you think there is no descent anywhere

This narrative from the Vic media about making the Women's Grand final rotated or permanently at the MCG is just a joke and it's got me really worried.

If 53 thousand at the Adelaide Oval on Sunday doesn't prove that the GF should be held at the teams home ground I don't know what does.

Looking at the 3 GFs the worst attended was the Victorian one with a poultry 7 odd thousand.
Such a joke.
South Australian's supported the event Sunday. Why can't we make this a positive.

Also Hird back at Essendon... Hasn't he had a lifetime ban as a coach?
My god these are making me angry.

No wonder I don't watch any of the Vic Centric Footy Shows anymore.

Yep, Princes Park officially holds 24.5k and they got less than a third of that to the ground. Yet they immediately suggest rotating the grand final to venues such as that which would get even fewer people if it was two non-Victorian teams? Laughable

i'd rather watch wnbl than aflw.

Hardly a surprise you'd prefer the WNBL. That's been going around for nearly 40 years.

Maybe when AFLW has been around for the same time as WNBL you'll enjoy that too.

Also, where exactly is this narrative about rotating GF / MCG GF?

I've heard it from many including Caroline Wilson and Hutchy.

I can't see the AFL being happy that we won the GF so easily. They'll be looking at ways to handicap.
First step would be to make sure the GF is always in Melbourne.

There was some talk before Sun about rotating the AFLW, But after Sunday I believe a couple have changed there tunes.

I hope you're right but we see the AFL put very little thought into the AFLW, exhibit A the conference system and comparing that to the World Cup of Soccer.

It is unfortunate when people can't appreciate Aussie Rules unless it is at the highest (AFL) standard.

Exactly this, I know I've enjoyed even watching some mens and womens matches on NITV on the occasion when I'm flicking channels.
I know their skills won't be as good but I give it a watch.

In all honesty I enjoy watching two people kicking for goals at the local park.

And in your plight to prove just how not sexist you are, you've become a preachy troll. The only important thing is that your taste is better than everyone else's, regardless of 53,000 reasons why your views aren't very popular.

I've been a pretty big skeptic of AFLW. Tokenism, etc. Plus I just found the quality of the skills hard to watch.

My 6 year old, who has grown up in a footy household, did not take a single second of interest in footy until she watched her first AFLW game this year... she loved it.

So I took her on Sunday. She made a cardboard sign, sat on a busy train, saw the crowd, heard the noise - exactly what I experienced at the Bay Oval with my old man when I was 6 years old. She had one of the best days of her life and now wants to go to every Crows game she can, men's or women's.

The game itself is improving, and watching her enjoy footy on Sunday was an awesome moment for me. And it wouldn't have happened unless AFLW happened.

Just on that, the level improvement in standard has been huge, I barely watched because of it but the games I saw late in the season, the Crows girls played great football.

I have to agree, I've only seen a part of that grand final this year, and some of season 1. I was taken aback by how much they've improved in that time.
