Universal Love IT WAS FUN NOT HAVING A LID IN 2019 - BUT GWS AND RICHMOND NAILED THE 2020 LID BACK ON

Is the Lid now “OFFICIALLY” off?

The team that took the lid off. Quality on every line.

WHY IS IT NOT SATURDAY NOW?

That would be great for us, but...
The boys only had 6 days to recover, we don’t need to make it any less.

LOL!

I'm listening to The Roar Deal and right up front as soon as he got on air Harris Andrews and Dom Fay mentioned THE LID a couple of times. When the boys got in a huddle after the Eagles game apparently it was Alex Witherden who corralled them and told them to keep a lid on it.

THERE IS NO DOUBT THE LID IS A THING ... Fages hasn't been in touch yet, but if he asks us to tone it down a bit we might have to. Conversely, we could just tell him to shove off and keep winning games. He can worry about the coaching and we will worry about THE LID!

I was having lunch today and I happened to notice that the lid of my lunchbox was completely open. I'm not normally one for portents, but that can only be a good sign I reckon.
My toilet lid is permanently up these days.

Berry 11 score involvements in 23 touches last week. Reckon he's quietly going about a breakout season. Lids off Bez.
I picked him to kick a goal last week in a competition on here but I cant find it lol.........ahhh love fridays

“I see a Golden Lion and now I see 22 Lions. I see a LID. It is sailing through space, beyond our solar system. I see a dedicated band in Melbourne and Brisbane and other cities and villages and hamlets, wearing maroon and blue. Some are older and they are wearing red, blue and gold. They speak of a heaven known as Fitzroy. There is great rejoicing and feasting and copulation. They are all singing, “The Lid is off! The Lid is off!” I have seen the future and it is wonderful for supporters of the Lion Gods.”

The last time we won more than 2 games before the bye was 2012 - including wins against the 3 bottom teams (Melbourne, Gold Coast in their second year and GWS in their inaugural season).

Lids off for me regardless.
That is very sad reading!

I can remember that loss to the Crows like it was yesterday.

We should have won that one too and would have had umps not completely ignored the fact that Aker was basically decapitated in the last minute. Would have been a kick 25 out right in front of goals had the free been paid. I'm pretty sure (not 100%) that was the game where Brett the "Birdman" Burton kept the Crows in the game with some towering marks and freakish goal kicking.

It was a surreal feeling at full time in that game and I can clearly remember being really upbeat at full time because I felt that despite the injustice of the result, that we had really shown great fight and application.

I didn't imagine in my wildest dreams that that would be our last loss for 2001.

2001 really was a Space Odyssey.

Even now, I marvel at what an accomplishment that Premiership was.:footy:

Agree, was there too. Robbie Copeland's debut. The cheer when he came off the bench was remarkable - a Brisbane boy off the rookie list.

Copeland was a gun and much underrated by opposition supporters, but not by Lions fans. He did a great job on Buckley in the 2003 GF. Won some great one on one tussles.
