For mine that was the take home message today.

Pyke made sure his message was clearly communicated first hand. He took responsibility, got in the trenches and took charge and I liked that a lot.

Only gold coast, but positive signs.

The Jenkinless forward line was a winner.

If we had lost to them, they would have been on top of the ladder, they have had a good month of footy, we should all remember that when we review this win.

A definite change in ethos from Pyke.

Hopefully it is, and not a mirage because we played a team who fell apart in the 2nd quarter.

Good
We play Gold Coast again this season

I like some of their players and they look like they're building something under Dew but at this stage we have them well and truly covered.

and they were 3 and 1, losing a game by a point, they have been in better form than us, we lost to North Melbourne FFS
North has lead at the start of the 3rd quarter in all the games before they beat us. They need to stick to what their list is capable off and play slow and contested football (like they did against us) and not try to out-shoot their opposition like they tried against Essendon. GC has been in reasonable form but all of their 3 wins were less than 1 goal.

INJURIES
Adelaide:
Milera (AC joint)

MEDICAL ROOM
Adelaide:
Wayne Milera hurt the AC joint in his left shoulder after a collision with Suns defender Pearce Hanley in the second quarter. Milera didn't play any further part in the game. "It looks relatively serious," Crows coach Don Pyke said. "Once we get the scans, we'll be able to put a bit more light on that, but I'd suspect he'd be out for a reasonable chunk of time … I'd say it'd be north of four to six weeks."
Gold Coast: The Suns had a clean bill of health.

If we were smashing GC early I would think we are just playing a poor team.

They were on top. They shut down our avenues to goal like every other side we have played and blocked our HB run.

From Q1 onwards we played a more fluent style of footy. We attacked the goal mouth. Used the corridor and both flanks. We rarely attack down the members win. But did multiple times tonight. We also played on more which limits defensive pressure as you are not as static.

From my perspective a definite change rather than just flat tracking.

Flat tracking blew out the score. But the change in forward movement stopped a loss or even a miserable win.

Thought we won due to GC being crap

Tex was very average, can only play on his terms

Gibbs played with on passion and his kicking was very inconsistent

Kelly is average as well

I think Keath is becoming a good player and is very good in the air

Rob is worth persevering as he has shown a fair bit.

We have a lot of holes to fill if we are to become a top 8 team

True, but they're a young side and definitely our bunnies. By all means this deserved to be chalked in as a win. Having said that I wasn't confident at all and the way we saw off their heat then demolished them was absolutely a credit to the boys.

Forwardline structure had a big improvement this week. Tex playing deeper in the forwardline, and our forwards leaving the space open for him to lead into. Not having Jenkins really helped this structure. Was good especially when Tex was the starter in the goal square. Maybe he's better off as a FF.
Its easier when you dont have JJ hanging off your left shoulder. I too liked the structure and having Himmelberg actually go in another direction

Smithers kicking and speed looked like a big step towards his pre ACL form. We've missed that penetration forward.
It was like he started to believe in his leg and length again

Greenwood is huge, when he gets tackled always gets his arms free and looks for good options. A weapon up forward and can take a contested grab which is what we've needed.
Another one that (apart from 1 time) kept out of Texs way. Plushis contesting sparked the forwards also

A good win, but not totally convincing as Gold Coast were very ordinary. Gold Coast overcommited defensively in the first quarter. You could see their forwards were too far forward defensively to the point where they were out of position to be offensively dangerous when they regained posession.
Agreed, look at the positives but dont ignore the negatives

Good:
Alex Keath is becoming a very, very good player. Wouldn't mind seeing him pinch hitting up forward
ROB's very clean around his feet.
CEY did some fantastic off the ball work, often clearing space with his positioning and strength
Mackay's runs seemed to lift the side and encouraged others to take the game on
Murphy shows immense courage
Eddie, enough said already
Atkins provided an outlet with his hard running to space
Tex worked into the game
Smith was back to his damaging best

The Not So Good:
Teams seem to be reading Lynch and Gibbs 20-30 metre kicks, as they are mostly the safe and obvious option
Laird is horribly out of form, panic kicks and fumbly
Talia is struggling, looks slow and laboured
Some of B. Crouch's decision making was baffling

Mate come on that was a very good game. Some absolute lasers hitting up our forwards. You can't ask for more than that really. Just did his job well

It was a good game but the first quarter he fumbled and missed targets. Once the game opened up and the pressure was off he was great.

There's a golf saying that any change works for three holes.

Craig started coaching from the boundary when the wheels fell off

It's a deckchair shuffling move IMO
Don't agree. With the lack of runners many coaches are coaching from the boundary. It's a modern play
