Story is very much legend Lucas describes around town, regardless....it is very sad to see 2 great loyal kids leave the club, 2 very talented respected by the boys, which makes a pleasure to watch Greenvale as their camaraderie and hence their low team points is second to none in the league. I don’t think CHapman did anything wrong, understandable for Matt to be disappointed, but from all accounts he was coming back from injury and had not actually played a practice match, from a coaches point of view was probably protecting the player returning from injury, as well as fielding the best fit team for round one, not necessarily the best team. Yes he is making hard decisions but Dempsey wasn’t immune from playing twos when he wasn’t up to last year, and maybe the father should respect the coaches decision especially an adult child, just like the respect he would of demanded in his years of coaching and having to make hard decisions. Sad result for club players and supporters.

Disappointing that it came to this as Matt, Brett & Nicole were always good club people.
It would also go some way to explaining the tired looking effort in rd 2.
For a club that doesn't seem as inclined to recruit as in years gone by and with limited junior numbers coming through - it is a cause for concern to see talented younger players heading for the door.

Exactly. Disappointing if things were made personal, but that is a private matter. Fact of the matter is if any player kicks up a fuss about playing two's then thats just plain disrespect to the club and the playing group, and deserves to be made an example of. If politics are involved then questions can be asked, however as pointed out it does seem like the kid just needed a run before being considered. Can't crack it after 1 round in the magoos.

Senior regular Matt Stillman is on the move from Greenvale.
The 22-year-old has crossed to rival EDFL Premier Division club Pascoe Vale after taking the field for the Jets’ reserves side in the opening round of the season.
Stillman has played 35 senior games for Greenvale over the past two years and also had stints with VFL outfit Coburg and NAB League club Calder Cannons.

He came through the Jets’ strong junior program and president Bruce Kent confirmed Stillman’s shift to the Panthers.
Stillman, who can play as a small defender and midfielder, is set to feature in Pascoe Vale’s reserves team this weekend.
“Obviously it’s a unique situation with Matt,” Panthers coach Digby Morrell said.

“He knows our group really well, played a lot of footy with the boys from Coburg and he’s mates with a lot of our guys who play reserves and seniors.
“Things didn’t start the way I suppose he really wanted at Greenvale and he’s used an opportunity to come across.
“I suppose from our perspective, to pick up a quality footballer who’s played at higher levels and finals and fits our age bracket, we’re really happy to bring him across.”
While Stillman is a proven player in the top flight of the EDFL, he will be starting from scratch at Pascoe Vale.
He managed four senior VFL games in his only season at Coburg in 2016 and will add flexibility to Morrell’s line-up.
“He had his issues out there (at Greenvale), and I’m not going to comment on those,” Morrell said.

“All I can do is outline the expectation of coming to the Pascoe Vale Football Club, and Matt’s been really open to that and understanding about where he sits and earning that respect of the group.
“He really wants to push in and be a leader of our group. Time will tell how quick that happens.
“Long-term, I think he’s really going to add a lot of leadership to our group.”
Ex-Coburg trio Ben Allan, Errol McConnell and Josh Cauchi also put pen to paper at Pascoe Vale over summer.

The Panthers will tackle Keilor away from home on Saturday.

So he'll be a minimum of four player points, maybe six if he's done ok with b&f....

Yep 4 points but that’s fine ATM as playing well under the limit.
What about the salary cap Turbs? Must be very, very close to limit, ahem over the limit. Appreciate you got 1 pointers but they still demand $$$$. Can’t see any of the new recruits getting less than $800, maybe Johncock but that’s it.

All there purely to play with their mates, convivial atmosphere at the club, and the love of the guernsey Footy. In those circumstances money is of no consequence. 😂😂

Well under ??
Pacco played on 44/47 points last week. Players missing from that game that I can think of.
M.Stillman - 4 points.
Hobijn-Allan - 5 points.
Mellington - 5 points.
E.Ogden - 3 points.

And if the other Stillman is following his brother that’s another 4 points. Might wanna get that calculator back out Ol’ Turbs. Interesting to see how they manage it when players return.

It might be a tight fit but given a number of the players worth higher points are VFL listed, it is unlikely that they'll be available at the one time, coupled with injuries, suspension etc they should be able to make it work.
Looking over their Ins & Outs, I'd guess that they'd be paying less than previous seasons given they've recruited from RDFL & Div 1 rather than targeting ex-AFL players.

Wow! Hope who ever Stillman replaces doesn’t have a tantrum. Looks tougher to pick a team at Greenvale as fitness won’t be the only consideration points and $$$.

Reports that he has thrown another tantrum and seeking another move for being picked in the reserves this week

Heard from a mate the Keilor v Paco was a ripper contest. Pacco hit the front in the last couple of minutes but then Keilor replied and hung on. Apparently O”Kearney was stretched off before 1/2 time with what appeared to be a serous knee injury and ambulance called. And another Keilor player was injured.
Very sad to hear that young O”Kearney was injured and hope he has a speedy recovery. Apparently he was on fire early as well..

Pacco definitely on the improve but good win by Keilor.

Anyone else there to confirm this??

Mick said on his Facebook report which I think is brilliant, every coach should do it. The other injury was the ruckman.

Just seen that Micks Minute. Great initiative but that’s why his the best coach in local footy..

So McGregor and O”Kearney both with serious injuries..

First half was ordinary standard of footy, very scrappy with the lots of mistakes from both teams. Second half opened up a lot & was a very good contest. Keilor had a chance to put pacco away early in the last when they dominated play and had 6 shots at goal for a return of 1 goal 5. Pacco scored a goal against the run of play and controlled the rest of the qtr hitting the lead with 90 seconds left to which Keilor responded kicking a goal with basically the last kick of the game. Gutsy for Keilor to hold on with only 2 on the bench for the last 40 minutes of the game, probably should have won by 2-3 goals but bad kicking is bad football.
Both Keilor players taken to hospital via ambulance with serious leg injuries. Okearney the more likely of the 2 to be back playing footy this year
Interested to know why foster played mainly as a forward today? Imo he is PVs best player and arguably only behind Ryan Allen as the comps best back men. Had very little influence on the game today and while Gregory was very good playing the intercept role down back I’d say pacco are a much better side when foster is playing the general role down back
