How on earth can you look at the picture posted and view the footage and come to the conclusion there was any high contact?

If there was even a hint of the the media would have been all over it.
This is really silly. One nuffie misreads a post and then everyone jumps in without bothering to understand the trail. It's no wonder Tigers posters have a bad reputation.

So, they were proved correct that Melbourne looked terrible and the scoreline was flattering them, when the margin ultimately blew out? What's the problem with that?

I'd much prefer that than the usual commentator's technique, which goes something like this:
  • Team A kicks a goal to go up by 20+ with 10 minutes left - "Goal! Game over!!"
  • Team B replies with a goal two minutes later - "Goal! Game back on!!"
  • Team A kicks another goal - "To seal the win! Yes!!"
  • Team B kicks two more goals in quick succession - "Signs of life! What a game!"
  • Rinse and repeat until there's about 20 seconds left.
They're there to provide analysis beyond what the scoreboard is telling us. If Melbourne had won, it would be a valid criticism. Honestly, of all the things to get worked up at the commentators about, you think they shouldn't get stuck into a team that looked as awful as Melbourne did last night?
Nah, the match is won on the scoreboard and sometimes ugly football wins. Remember, the Tigers had only kicked 34 points up to half time so Melbourne had done pretty well to hold them to that and it wasn't until late in the 3rd quarter that we started pulling away.

BTW I didn't get worked up, just found the commentary was being unfair on the opposition.

Each to their own. Personally I think the commentators would have been doing a disservice to their viewers not to mention how inept Melbourne was looking and if anything, I thought they were watering out down a bit (one of the most feeble efforts I've ever seen in an AFL game by Brayshaw was barely mentioned and you have to wonder how much of that was due to his uncle commentating at the time - I've mentioned it in more detail earlier in this thread).

Melbourne gave their all in the beginning, they had their season on the line, and because of that they got worked up to give us a contest, they over tried and they got tense, so tense in fact they tired out and fell away during the game.
People need to relax.
No pro player would’ve gone out on that pitch to be lazy and not try, they tried hard.
Lack of confidence, then lack belief started to set in and the game was over.
That how l sum it up once the dust has settled.

Four things I learnt watching Jack Reiwoldt:

1. Hurts his own knee while trying to deliver Max Gawn a corky. Hurt his wrist against the Pies being mischievous. Never learns.

2. Chickenwing.

3. Taking a dive in the 3rd quarter. Probably a tribute to his buddy Alex. A beautiful moment.

4. Blatantly pushes his opponent in the back at 9.54 left in the 3rd to mark the ball (no whistle), then moments later marks the ball again inside 50 and puts it right through the middle. Most other players would have had an attack of conscience and spray the kick, but not Jack. He doesn't know any different. Probably been pulling this shit since auskick.

Just play the ball, and stop being a dick, and maybe you won't be an embarrassment to the rest of the competition. That goes to the Nankernator as well (forearm to the head of two opponents in the 3rd). Michael Christian hello? Just clumsy I guess. Richmond's game plan when the scores are close: get violent and disregard the rule book. Hopefully the umps are too stupid to notice.
