Hello Eagles fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

Keys you may like to sticky this post & move it to the start of the thread (so the sticky post doesn't rotate if a post is deleted before it), or copy it to your draft thread if you have one.

It does feel like Jay Clark has an “insider” within the Eagles where he gets his information. Especially for him to double down on it.

However, as much as I’d love to froth from every orifice, you could say Sam McClure has an “insider” as he double down on his claim as well.
McClures was off the cuff. It’s a lead story if he really had that info. Ain’t no world the Eagles don’t take Reid number 1 if they have that pick.

Question in terms of list build. If you get 1 and hence Harley, who adds the mongrel to your midfield which already bats pretty deep, albeit it they are youngish, why are you so adamant that you need to add McKercher?

Surely you should be addressing the flaws in your list in a draft that can help you with plenty of KPDers, starting rucks to feed your mids in years to come (Xerri is only a solid back up), small forwards and speed on the outside. I get it that 2 and 3 gets you 2 of McKercher, Duursma and Curtin but are they your primary needs?

The piece of the puzzle you are missing is someone that can get people excited enough to buy memberships and turn up to games. Harley and Watson are the only players that have that edge in this year's draft. There are some other great options but Duursma, McKercher and Curtin are not selling bums on seats.
I’m not I agree we only need 1
The other is take watto or Curtin

R1 v West Coast 21,274

R8 v St kilda 22,065

R10 v Sydney 21,003

R14 v Bulldogs 23,829

R18 v Hawthorn 30,201

Ave home crowd = 23,674

If I’m “allowed” to include “big Melbourne clubs”

R4 v Carlton 49,062

R22 v Essendon 37,231

Ave home crowd = 29,237
Only 8 home games? What about the rest?

Hey North offer something decent not including your charity concessions or horseshit McKay compensation who isn’t even a top 10 defender in the league.

Stop having at Reid anyway, as if you can provide him a good home. Joke of a club. He will be just fine here. Check back in for happy snaps of him lapping up the beaches down south with his new mate and future premiership teammate Reuben Ginbey

how is it ridicoulous though? You must of not read what i said about the best prospect to come out of since Daicos, your not giving up that for Daicos?
I mean you would right now. Would have won the Brownlow if not for injury. It even took Judd 3 years to snag his 1st.

Should a last minute deal go through with Norf, for example, I wonder how far out from our live pick it would actually be agreed.

Feels a bit like we might trip over our own shoelaces if a deal genuinely comes to us at the deathknock and we don't have that draft strategy in front of us on the board.

Barring injuries or a first-year starters being drafted ala Reid, this is what I reckon we go with R1.

FB. Cole, Barrass, Duggan
HB. Hunt, McGovern, Yeo
C. Gaff, Sheed, Hough
HF. Cripps, Allen, Long
FF. Williams, Darling, Ryan
FOL. Flynn, Kelly, Hewett
IC. Ginbey, Chesser, Brockman, Rotham

I'm not saying I particularly like this lineup, but Simmo will be taking no chances at the selection table this year.

If we start getting crushed with injuries again, I'd expect him to walk around May.

Alternatively, we could keep up the form from the end of the year and pick off a few extra wins at home.

Feel we will split either this years or next years 1st to help the rebuild.

So which one?
We have 15 players 20 years or under on our list .
We don't need more picks we need the best talent available.
If we bring in 4 players +rookie this year then 4 players + rookie next year even with delistings we will have 22 -24 players 22 years or under going into 2025

Split may be on next year but Harley is the gun no other team would give up so why would we

I would rather wait and see what happens next season in regards to our 2024 1st rounder

Just so we’re clear IDGAF what North posters post in their board. Nor do I care what they think about what we post on ours

I do care about what they post here however and whilst I’m happy to give a bit of license when it comes to lighthearted banter, there is a line and The Nostradamus you’re close to crossing it
Do you think if we pinned a picture of a dead kangaroo to the top of every page of this thread it might keep them away?

Hi Phil I hope you’re feeling better than you were last week.

A question. Moir. Is he on your board? I know he had a horrible season. I vaguely remember you saying you weren’t confident he’d be drafted but it’s been a long time since then and I could’ve got it wrong

I wouldn't draft him at this stage. Depending on what's left maybe a our last rookie pick because there is definite talent.

Starting next season with Gaff and Sheed both starting midfielders (I'm counting the wing here) would be a huge step in the wrong direction. We can't play them both - I'd back Sheed in to play the wing role better than Gaff, so he can start in the WAFL.

And Hough should stay down back (for now at least), looks like becoming an elite interceptor.

Agree. But as long as neither of them are attending CBD, I see that as a win....not a happy win, just progress.
Gaff or Sheed playing WAFL is the best indication of progress re trust in & development of younger players & a direction of what the club is doing.
Fingers crossed, exciting times ahead watching the evolution of our team

I think there's a limit right, even on your own board.
Personal and vitriolic attacks without substance I think cross the line and should be called wherever their posted (except the SRP board for some reason).

10, 14 PLUS Crows F1st

For Eagles F1st is what was posted. So your math assumption has missed the Crows F1st.

Now in all likelihood Eagles would also add 2023 picks 37 and 58 that are surplus. Crows land Draper in 2024 who they are very keen on. Crows end up with picks 20, 37 and 58 for this years draft. And likely a top 2 pick in 2024.

Feel free to redo the math and come back with any questions.
Just my opinion, I believe you would need kick Adelaide a future 3rd back as well.

Adelaide probably should then package 37 and 58 together, to move up to 32.
