Cats are odds on. We'll do our best and see where it takes us. Hopefully the brave banged up battlers from Brisbane can get up for one more massive effort.
Yes, super strong effort from the club. Would be the most cherished premiership of all if your boys get up.

I look forward to seeing Bailey Smith win the Norm Smith award.

Geelong by 45
Norm: Bailey Smith
First goal: Dempsey

Yeah you might be on to something - I remember seeing somewhere that the result from the qualifying final is often reversed if the two sides meet again in the granny. Gives cause for optimism that it will at least be a decent game even if it doesn’t happen again
Happened in 03,05,06,15.

In 2018 WC beat Collingwood in the GF after beating them in the QF.

Random observations

If Bailey Smith was to win the Norm Smith he would be the second player with the same last name to win the award (Isacc the other), the other being Maurice and Cyril Rioli. (If you don't count Norm).

If Mannagh wins the Norm Smith he would be the first to win the VFL grand final award and the AFL grand final award.
He would join Maurice Rioli (WAFL) and Nathan Buckley (SANFL) in the state league and National double.

Patrick Dangerfield will move past Leigh Matthews for finals played taking him to 30.

This is a guess but If Brisbane win Gallop will be the third least experienced player to win a Premiership.
Behind Pickett and Hadley?

Jack Graham was game 5

Since 2019;

Geelong - 3x GF, 1x premiership, 6X prelim finals

Brisbane - 3x GF, 1x premiership, 5x prelim finals

Both clubs striving for their 5th premiership this century.

A virtually identical record with another premiership to be added next week.

Two incredibly good teams. Deserved GF match up.

A lot of people predicted this would be the GF match up and I think we have definitely got the two best teams. Unfortunately, there’s some big outs so we won’t see the very best of either side but I’m still very excited for this one. The Lions of the last two weeks are much better than the side that played the QF so I think it will be a great contest.

The big question mark for me is Dangerfield. Can he at his age produce at that level two games in a row? If he can, Cats by 30. If not, I think the Lions in a close one.

Except we don't know that... You're only as good as your competition let's you be.

Collingwood were lucky to draw Adelaide Week 1.

Can we take a moment to think how much of a force the Lions have become.

Less than 10 years ago they were a basketcase. Bottom of the ladder and couldn't pull a crowd. Now they are playing to go back to back and getting a 60k+ stadium built as their home ground.

Remarkable turnaround.

Academies have made a huge difference. For GCS too.

no loss, he's ordinary at best. they've played better without him
Ty has Galloped past Hipwood.

Payne and Answerth are the big losses because they can cover for a missing or inhibited Neale in midfield. Berry is a decent player but that shoulder has only just been hanging on. Breville gives them more zip on the wing.

A ridiculously talented and deep list.

They're going to be juggernaut for a while yet.

Fletcher, Washcroft, Marshall, Lashcroft, Morris, Lohmann, Wilmot and now Gallop are all still kids. Add Annable to that core too, with Draper, Allen, and maybe Ridley to bolster things.

McSuitcases, Rayner, Andrews, and Bailey with a while left in the game too.

Sure, they've had some gifts along the way, but you've got to take them when they come. The groundwork was already laid regardless.

Phenomenal club, and a huge effort from where they were not so long ago.
