Would have been great to see him make it purely for sentimental reasons. Hopefully he has the same grit and tenacity his old man showed when he was delisted and he can still have an AFL career somehow.

I only saw limited games of VFL this year but he didn't seem like a player you'd definitely put a line through in that regard.

I think he definitely showed improvement over his two years on our rookie list, but it was gradual, rather than exponential.

His issue is that he hasn't developed a standout attribute that you can point to and say "that would work at AFL level". He's slightly built (as was his dad at the same age) but hasn't shown the manic "see ball get ball" that Brett had. He's not especially quick and his skills aren't overly reliable or creative. He's pretty decent overhead for his size, but that is just "for his size". He's not going to be a regular contested marker at AFL level where everyone is bigger, stronger and quicker than at VFL level.

I said about a month ago that I thought he'd overcome the odds and play a seniors game for us. I was clearly very wrong on that one.

I maintain that he has something. He can do a little bit of a few things - he can intercept at ground level, he's a good runner, he's got OK disposal. Plus I think he's a leader and would bring a lot culturally to a club that really put faith in him to do a role at senior level.

I'm not putting a line through him that he'll end up at another club at some stage after some time at VFL/SANFL/WAFL level to prove himself worthy of another shot.

Probably been posted elsewhere in the offseason but Indhi has signed with the Perth Demons for the next 2 years

Best of luck to Indhi.

The Demons are kinda the perennial strugglers of the WAFL - haven’t won a premiership in 50 odd years.

But they did produce a handy footballer - a bloke by the name of Lance Franklin. You might have heard of him.
