Have you compared stats yet?
I’m asking as I’m assuming Daicos is miles ahead if what you saying is correct.
Nick is ahead of Nas on basically all stats and like I originally said well ahead on the inside game - double clearances and a third above on contested possessions.

Basically, Nas's outside game is comparable to Nick's but his inside game isn't close.

I watch a lot of Port and if you combine Rozees outside game with Butters inside game, you'd get pretty close to Nick. Individually - just no.

Marginally in some behind in others
Meters gained NWM miles ahead

You seriously think Daicos outside game is better than Rozee?
Seriously

Daicos (with 3 disposals) actually only had 1 less disposal than W.Ashcroft (4) in Q4 of the 2025 PF.
Interesting comparison in finals those two
8 games to 7.
Particularly when you consider the amount of AA’s and Brownlow medals that have been awarded to Bris midfielders in that time and putting aside the two BOG performances in the biggest games it’s not quite what you’d expect from a player some supporters are spruiking as will become the best to have ever played the game.

where he was rated the highest player on the ground and played with a broken foot and a pcl
And almost single handedly carried his team over the line (because he's Collingwood's only decent midfielder) against a team that won the Grand Final by 10 goals the following week!

It's astounding the Daicos haters choose that game to flex about. I guess it's not often Collingwood lose, so they don't have too many to choose from....

Since Nick debuted you can comfortably argue these players body of work have been as good, or better:

[PLAYERCARD]Marcus Bontempelli[/PLAYERCARD]
[PLAYERCARD]Jeremy Cameron[/PLAYERCARD]
[PLAYERCARD]Max Gawn[/PLAYERCARD]
[PLAYERCARD]Zak Butters[/PLAYERCARD]
[PLAYERCARD]Isaac Heeney[/PLAYERCARD]
[PLAYERCARD]Lachie Neale[/PLAYERCARD]
[PLAYERCARD]Patrick Cripps[/PLAYERCARD]
[PLAYERCARD]Caleb Serong[/PLAYERCARD]

Yes they're older than Daicos and yes it's impressive to be at that level already, but it's ignorant to pretend he has been in a league of his own or undisputed best player in the comp. He's been sitting at the big boy's table but has not put distance between most, if not all of the above names over the past 4 years.

Well if Heeney plays forward kicks 5 and Daicos plays mid and has 35 who’s had the better game?

I would take Heeney's 34 disposals, 5 goals and 9 clearances against North this year than Daicos's 42 disposals, 3 goals and 4 clearances against Richmond this year every day of the week.

I do like how you've had to extend the time period to 4 seasons, to include Daicos' debut year, and compare him to players in their absolute prime years as footballers

👏 👏 👏

My statement has been he's #1 since 2023 - do you disagree with that?

The funny thing is that Daicos has actually had more podium finishes in the 3 main home and away awards than anyone if you extend the timeframe to 4 years.

LOLOLOLOL.

Awesome.

What about Daicos' career so far compared to Heeney's.

Number of podium finishes in the 3 main awards:
Daicos 7 v. Heeney 2.
Premierships: Daicos 1 v. Heeney 0.

I don't agree with your 2023-2025 statement either and we have already discussed in detail why. But it's poor form to selectively chop out the first year in the sequence. Daicos had a superb debut season. That's where the lines should be drawn. I've already said how impressive it is that he arrived at an already high level. But that's not the discussion point. The discussion point is "undisputed best player in the game" in this era. All of the players I listed have been as good during the past few years.

I haven't done the analysis for 4 seasons because his debut season was far inferior to his 2023 to 2025.

But who has performed better over the last 3 seasons, and what is the rationale for your analysis?

Because I've already shared mine.

Go.

Heeney's ceiling is definitely higher than Daicos's.

He also can do a lot more. He can be dominant in the midfield or as a forward. Daicos could not dream of taking contested marks like Heeney can.

We've already discussed it mate. Do you have Alzheimer's? Find the posts if you need to revisit it. But I see you're not challenging my list of players being as good or better over the last 4 years. I'll gladly accept that as a concession. So much for "undisputed best player in the competition". He's just one of around 7 players who have been top tier over the past few years.
