Been carted off.

Pointed to his left knee. Looks bad

Happened during a wrestling drill with Dawson
strip him of his captaincy

Is this mishap with Curtin a ticket for Pedlar to get some centre square time?
Perhaps a little, but more likely someone like Rachele has more midfield rotations... which frees up Pedlar up forward.

Time for Dowling to get opportunity. Pedlar doesn't have the durability or all round game to play midfield.

Hopefully he's ok. My kneecap popped out once as I was putting the recliner down on the lounge chair. Agony. An early morning visit to the chemist by my wife to get some crutches got me up and about and as I went to put my foot into some thongs to visit the doctor, it magically popped back in. No pain and no loss of strength. I cancelled the doctor and was back posting on bigfooty in no time. Hopefully Curtin is right for round 1.

Yes, but the insinuation is, we don't lose anything with the next man up ......Rankine, Thilthorpe, Murray, and Worrell, are all replaceable .....4 out, 4 in, we don't skip a beat ....is that what you believe ?
Lies lies and more lies.

Rankine and Worrell played rounds 1-9, we started the year 0-4 with them playing, when Nicks went rogue bonkers. Same as when you claimed Milera not playing was to blame when he played early games as well.

And Murray has shown he isn’t a key plank.

While I'm as disappointed as everyone here (thank God it's not an ACL), I'd like to think we also shouldn't have been seriously pinning all our hopes on a 20 year old who only broke into the team in the middle of last year.

I agree he was set for a breakout year and it's cruel as hell, but the show literally HAS to go on. Someone needs to take an opportunity here. And with any luck that will be a silver lining and he'll be back by round 4, as good as ever. Fingers crossed.

And yeah, I'm gonna hold off on that Gold upgrade for now, too... And then pray I regret it! 🫣

Curtin's injury this year will be used in the same way Thilthorpe's injury was used in 2024. Including by people on this forum

Love that one of your first thoughts is that the club is going to fail and then they are going to use Curtins injury as an excuse. What a miserable existence.

You don't think Thilthorpes injury in 2024 affected us?

Was he a massive reason we climbed the ladder in 2025? All Australian, 2nd in our B&F, kicked 60 goals (4th in the AFL) and was 3rd for contested marks - I would say he is a player that greatly impacts the way we play footy and the success of our footy club.

You can call them excuses, but they are realities. Losing a player like Thilthorpe is a massive massive blow. As is losing Curtin this year.

Curtins 2025 season was similar to TT's 2023. Best 22 players with absolutely massive upsides. We need Curtin to become a star to go to that next level. We have 4 game winning players - TT, Rankine, Rachele, Dawson - adding a 5th would be huge.

We know that we weren't quite good enough in 2025.

But a rd 1 finals side that adds in Rankine, Rachele, Ah Chee AND a Daniel Curtin that took a massive step forward in 2026 and we are a genuine premiership threat.

Hopefully we are ultra cautious with Curtin. Would almost prefer we just write him off until the half way of the year and give him a delayed 'full preseason'.

Thats a big ask.

His body has allowed him to play 2, 3, 21, 4, 9 games across his 5 AFL seasons. Add in to that he was massively injury prone as a Junior footballer.

Lets just see if his fragile body can withstand 10+ games at Half forward before we even think about throwing him into the bash and crash of the midfield.
