Biggest ever crowd St Kilda have played in front of, and their players were overwhelmed by the occasion. For Collingwood, it was just another day at the office given 80k blockbuster crowds are the norm.
Rookie numbers for us

Thought Parker was solid if not sparkling, but he looks very at home in defence and is not over-awed by any opposition.
He made one bad error but you wouldn't question him getting picked next week. He plays with tenacity and gives the impression he is in with a good chance of winning contests.

The younger fringe players were all quite ordinary: Allan, Parker, Roan, Buller. Players on the outside can challenge these for selection. Will be looking for more from them.

I thought Parker did ok. Not great, but more than serviceable. Had more impact and involvement than Allan.

The only issue I have with our forwards is Membrey looks really slow below his knees and when he has the ball in live play to quick hands give.
Needs to fix this part up as he left too many on the table we could have walked into goals had been able to find the first dish clean

Good to see us Beat the overrated Aints and the Scumps

Though we where lucky Saints Finishing in Front of Goal was terrible

Our Backline stood up better then I thought

Midfield was Beaten as Saints had more of the Ball then we did

Forward line needs to play better even with not much and poor Ball Entry. Elliot/McStay/Membery/Buller did not have a Huge Impact

Daicos boys were Massive for us.

Houston got lot of the Ball had some really good kicks but also missed some easy targets

Beau was Huge early in 3rd Qtr

That was lot better then last year Round 0 and good we Won tonight as I doubt we beat the Crows

Great win! Houston, DeGoey, Perryman, IQ, Schultz, Maynard, McCreery, Pendles, Cameron and The Daicai all stand-outs for us.

I do worry about how many games we can realistically win with a key forward trio of McStay, Membrey and Buller collectively kicking one goal, as they did tonight.

But that’s a concern for later. Tonight, let’s celebrate a great win!

Pendles’ stats for 55% TOG are ridiculous.
26, 11 contested at 81% efficiency. 4 tackles. 10 score involvements and 5 goal assists.
55% TOG!!!!
According to Ross the Boss, Pendlebury had no impact.
As a coach if he can’t see his impact, he is on a hiding to nowhere.
Maybe I should’nt be surprised by his presser comments!

5 score involvements in a 2 goal game is no impact!!!

Amazing result with basically zero from our tall forwards.

Rate Buller highly but wow he was terrible. Just jogged around and no second efforts. Couldn't play a worse game if he tried.

Long I thought was ok - better and quicker with his decision making

IQ was superb, Naicos, Jaicos and Shooter all good. Pendles also super creative. De Goey also great.

Umpiring was borderline pathetic.

He did completely take Higgins out of the game. He did really well. We need a defender who can lock down on smalls
