I’m sure there were several decisions not umpired properly but why wasn’t Logue given a free after Bailey kicked his goal and then slammed him in the back?

I thought they were stamping out taunting?
I think Chom has worked it out. Straight away he sat Bailey on his arse.

I think he has realised you won't get anything get a free kick from the opposition taunting (despite what the AFL says), but you might get a little leeway with your response to someone taunting.

Of course he did the same to Harley not long ago when he was doing the same.

Yeh man if you can sit here with a straight face and say CCJ was the right selection this week then you're wildly delusional.

If you think Corr is a good selection.

Spargo.

Cameron bloody Zurharr on his current form.

What top 6 teams would be playing these blokes? CZ is likely the only one of those players that will be a part of any future success for the club and his form is atrocious.

Truth hurts.

It didn’t look winnable because they simply are a class above us across the park; we have too many weak links to make it winnable against the Premiers

Time to look at the glass half full Spud

The journey back up is on

The faux outrage over a solid performance is laughable.

beat ourselves today, really frustrating.

Larkey, Curtis and sheezel misses. Inability to make 2x simple goal line shepherds. 5 goal swing…

Plus the multiple brain dead turnovers in the 3rd.

refreshing to watch us with a coherent game plan, although was a bit concerning to have the ‘Daniel wander’ kick out strategy return today.

Royals rule 1, you never blame the umps, that game was there for the taking, we messed up, plain and simple.
What stands out is how much we missed FOS in the midfield. As it’s stands his comeback is more important than Xerris and that’s saying something considering how CCJ played.
They just all over the place without him, I don’t want to say they’re selfish, they just gell.

Really could've been much different. Expectations are being adjusted too swiftly. The more we win, the more people want it. Without remembering that we are clearly, clearly better than last year; competitive performances/wins with the errors we make suggest a significantly lifted baseline. And Clarkson is back to being a footy coach rather than the principal of a special school. Long may it continue

It could have been. Up to the players to bridge the gap. As a supporter, I'm happy enough.

Guys guys guys.

We almost beat a amazing team.
Curtis hasn't hit his potential
Zuhaar hasn't
Larkey hasn't
Our backline is a work in progress but I see the start of it now. Logue looks good. Pink for corr easy. Then we have stacks in the vfl injured or up and coming.

Our midfield matched it. We just didn't cope well with the ferocious pressure at times... but at times we did! It's exciting. They'll learn.

One more thing... trembath. Wow.

Duursma still looks like he has it to persist.

Mckercher!!! O wowee was he up and down. Can't wait for him to be what he can be.
Larkey and Zurhaar are both 27. One of them isn’t very good to begin with. Saying they haven’t hit their potential is inaccurate.

After today’s game lm going to take the glass half full approach.
. Fix the decision making of that second half
Time to move on some of the senior players who continue to make basic game momentum killer mistakes.

Play the kids..look at cooper….if it’s good for him…then let them play.
We were our own worst enemies but when have we ever thought that in the last few years.

Sure umpires sucked with some dud calls…but until we roll our sleeves up and crack in ….that is unlikely to change until we give them a darn reason to…ie win consistently.

But so many positives to walk away with a feeling….gosh we’re building.

Sorry for curtis/larkey/zurhaar more meant potential TODAY. Larkey shouldve had 2 or 3, Curtis 3.... and zurhaar.... well maybe he has plateud but still as a collective they couldve been so much better was my point

If the last ten minutes had played out a bit better and we’d come out maybe 2 goal losers people would feel it differently. Those last few minutes are the experience and confidence gap between back to back premiers closing out a game vs perennial losers chasing it. It is a learning experience.

The good news is Clarko is properly engaged because he can finally see improvement so hopefully he and his team will make sure the lessons are learned. The more we put ourselves in those situations against good teams the better we will handle them.

i never thought i would be disappointed with a 5 goal loss to brisbane

basic skill errors let us down

zuurhaar is the biggest down hill skier in history except for ice bath

we’re building

Or gazillion

An elite ball user off half-back or 2, will help us immeasurably.
The positive is that we'll likely finally be in a position to be able to turn the heads of players on the market. There are enough pieces of the puzzle now, to make it easier to attract what we're missing.

Too many games are being decided at selection atm. That's totally in our control with a week to think about it but we're gifting games to blokes who are not having a dip (Zurhaar) or are just shite (CCJ).
Mate please roll out the players in the magoos who are alternatives to CCJ and Zurharr etc who are ready to hit the ground AFL ready???? If nothing else the last couple of weeks has exposed how shallow our list really is. It’s not CCJs fault that he’s been asked to do more than he’s capable of. It makes me realise that the whole list rebuild thing is still a work in progress, unfortunately. And when we lose Parker, Darling and Daniel (quite possibly at the end of this year) we are really going to be up shitts creeks. How many other AFL teams don’t have a ready to play second ruckman??? Serious question, how the f does that happen?

To say that CCJ is a shitbox, would be insulting to shitboxes.

Does not deserve to wear the jumper next week. Or any week.
Mate I respect your posts normally but (and it’s not just you) hanging it on CCJ like that is unfair to the man. He’s wearing the jumper he’s doing the best he can in circumstances he did not invite on himself. I acknowledge his limitations but I sincerely believe he wouldn’t be playing if we had other options and that’s on us as a club not him as a player

I think that's a bit of a cop out. he's been in the system for 10 years. He should be a better ruckman than what he is. The fact that Darling and Trembath - part time rucks - perform better than CCJ, is an indictment on him. We look a man down with him on the team.

I do agree though that it has been poor list management by the club to keep him on, and play him. Even someone like Cox would have offered more.

Need both

Watching that Lions Ruck palm it down their throats when the calibre of LDU, Sheeze, George or Jy/PC were in the vicinity was nauseating

Past 2 weeks we have been expecting that the midfield group have the capacity to a shark a ball at the second opportunity. Exhausting and tiring for all of them.

Dean Cox?

Yes indeed and even in his current shape

Damn thats not good
He should be.

It was he who picked Spargo, CCJ, McDonald, Corr and Logue.

That's ~20% of the team who need to be delisted and taken away. Disgusting and needs to be rectified.

Round 1 Stephens needs to return as he is shit again now, someone needs to remind him.
