Sigh. I feel like it goes without saying, but if you're an opposition (Collingwood) fan looking to come over and get into a fight about Maynard's bump/tribunal case (again), go elsewhere.

No more warnings, cards will be handed out. Please read the room.

Wonder what instigated the change at this point?

Following the concussion he sustained last September, Brayshaw was in the process of completing a thorough rehabilitation which involved ongoing neuropsychological testing.

That process allowed Brayshaw to return to a controlled training program, but recent neuropsychological testing brought that recovery program to a halt.

A recent highly specialised scan result revealed microscopic changes in the brain that had developed since the concussion. It was based on these results that Brayshaw has been medically retired.

Incredibly sad for Angus and you lot.

Won’t be the last player to finish up much earlier than they should due to concussion, but at least he will always be a premiership hero.

Time to get over Maynard. Im sure he didnt do it to end his career, Gus has had ongoing issue going back some time. s**t happens, its the risk you take playing contact sport.

Offseason from hell.

Premiership hero. Feel for the bloke. No doubt he'll get a gig in commentary. Seems perfect for the role. Hope he sticks around at the club

Yeah look, I still think he should have been suspended but I'd rather the this thread be a celebration of his career than another shitfight about the moment that ended it.

Sad news. We never convinced him to come join Andrew but still felt a connection with him over at Freo. Hope the long term effects are minimal. As our SM team put it...

Still one of the best photos from the flag

That goal and celebration in the GF :sob:
The entire 3rd quarter, swung the momentum of the game on his lonesome pretty much. No player dug deeper when we were looking in trouble.

The Schache spoil was a thing of beauty.

Was sent to halfback and played the best footy of his career, so selfless, so many times going with the flight and risking contact to save us in defence, absolute team man.

Just an ultimate team man and the kind of guy that makes good clubs great - will play any role for the team and leave it all out on the park. Bloody tough player but there's more to life than football. This one really stings. Also the untimely end of Gus & Gawny :'(
