What was your 1st computer ???

I have (or my family has) owned

1. A Pong
2. An Atari games console
3. A Vic 20 (4k ram...optional tape drive - plug into the telly)
4. a Commodore 64 - started with a tape drive...had to wait half an hour for the "summer olympics" game to load and then when it did it was stuffed so you had to start again. I went through about 50 joysticks playing that game trying to get th little guy to run.
5. An Amstrad 128D....Disk Drive !!!! 3 inch so the disk could not be used anywhere else. My mate had this stash of games (originals) which he gave me for free (I later found out he used to break into the warehouse and flog them !!)

wish I still had them all....might be worth dome dough

from there various boring versions of the same IBM thingy. My latest has 128MB ram...I compare that to the 4k on the old Vic 20 !!!!

Commodore 64 back in about '86.

Also had a tape deck. Took an hour for The Hobbit to load.

Got a small Turbosave program which allowed many copied games to be saved in fast format, that helped.

Some early games I had included Pole Position, Juice, Mission Impossible, Evil Dead ... umm my memory is failing me now.

I had an Amstrad as well before I got this Packard Bell.

What about computer games systems?? Some of the game consoles I've had include:

1. Nintendo- Came with Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt, I just loved that nintendo gun.

2. Super Nintendo- International cricket, still one of the best games I've ever played.

3. Sega Game Gear- Waste of money, not much fun.

4. Playstation- The next level in games, great fun.

5. Playstation2- The best games console out, incredible graphics and gameplay improving.

First computer, Amstrad 464. Very cute with the coloured keyboard and built in tape deck.

Games took 15-20 minutes to load and were not all that reliable. Apart from the green monochrome screen a fair performer.

Atari clone...couldn't even afford the real thing.

then at a grade two birthday party I missed out on the sweets because I preferred to continue playing 'River Raid'.

QT - why dont you catch up with the times and move to Disc. Nintendo are so far behind. The 64 sucked and the Cube will be even worse, dont know why they bother to compete anymore.

I went

Sega Master System
Sega Mega Drive
Sony Playstation

and now ive got a Sega Dreamcast which is pretty good. But that is just tiding me over until i can afford the PSX2.

QT you gotta catch up man .... Playstation 2 The Third Place.
