At the risk of sounding "undemocratic" - I'd be happy enough with that. Maybe we need to set some guidelines... >3 months membership to BF + >50 posts perhaps???? Dunno - just putting it out there...

Another possibility is that we "double-up"... so some players have two buddies for 2008?? Just another thought. (The first time we did this we had some posters with 2 buddies cos we didn't have enough participants....
I'll add the names to the list in order for the moment, and maybe we can thrash out some of the finer details when the registers of interest slows down to a trickle...

With excess numbers it doesn't really make sense to double up. Whilst i agree it is annoying missing out only to see someone else take a buddy and then vanish between April and September, it would be more annoying to miss out when others are given two players.
A minimum number of post's is probably the best way to go. The guys/gals who waste entire lunch breaks on BF deserve some sort of reward. Unfair as it is, the newbies will just have to wait until 2009.

Hey thanks for the heads up on Jeffnakors antics. I had missed all that as I didn't like the idea of such a topic on JLo. The bit I liked was him blaming Belnakor for not updating him. Needed a laugh!

Add me to that list. My visits will be infrequent from early December to mid February as I will be up north (I'll be back after then, I promise!) so I'm happy to sit out if someone who posts more than me has missed out.
I'm on the list (assuming I haven't been taken off) but I just wanna say I haven't posted heaps lately due to the fact I have been studying for a while, I am a big fan of this forum and I am a dockers member, have been since start if that means anything. Besides I would assume the bigger fans would be checking it more regularly and would have seen it. Just a thought, anyway thanks for the spot.

I'm with Rubber Pants on this one, in fact I would bring it forward to the first split round (after round 8 or so). If someone is AWOL, then they lose their buddy and someone else gets to have a crack.
I wouldn't discriminate against people on the basis of them being new to Bigfooty, by the way. Being part of the Buddy system will give them an opportunity to become part of the community here. Let's not shut the door in the faces of the newcomers.
