The kid seems supremely stupid. I shudder at the thought of people searching his instagram if we draft him only to find him smoking and drinking in almost every photo. He'd have to stop everything he seems to enjoy if he were to take up football professionally. Could slide past 20. The more of his off field stuff I see, the less I like him.
Garlett's photo of that kangaroo wouldn't go down well either...

Draft hopefuls on show
Membrey, a powerfully built full-forward, took his season's goal tally to 41 with the best afield effort, but his coach, former Carlton onballer Nick Stevens, says he's more than just a goal kicker.

"His game on the weekend was first class. Yes, he kicked the eight goals, but it was more about his chasing, his tackling and the way that he led from the front," Stevens said.

"He gets around to his teammates at training, he's a really well respected guy amongst the group, and he's going to be a good AFL player, no doubt.

"I have a lot of [AFL] recruiters ask me, 'Can we get him up the ground?', and there have been times when he's played in our midfield and done an outstanding job and actually turned games."

"We've been really pleased with Kristian's development," Chargers coach Justin Wenke said.

"We've played him as a key defender … [but] he's a great contested mark and he can play at both ends of the ground.

"He's got a great work rate and a will to improve. I think having that versatility is a great strength. He can play at either end of the ground - he can play on a quality [forward] or can go forward and kick goals - we can flick the switch when we need to and he offers the team great value."

Interesting stevo is Membrey's coach. We could do with a medium forward...

Sam Mayes would be of interest for the same reason - a medium forward who in the past year has been unleashed as a midfielder.

Part of our lack of scoring this year was that when our talls went down, we fell back on Betts as our full forward. The more 'utility' players we can rotate through the forward line, with a genuine goal sense, the better.

my mind is blown eddie style, y would one undertake LARS at such a young age. obviously he wanted to get drafted but i would have thought he had enough runs on the board to ensure his position at a club.

How could we let this happen? If there is some sort of commitment to us, he should not be allowed to go around visiting other clubs!

The club needs to leave no stone unturned to ensure every decision made is a winner, ESPECIALLY when it comes to recruiting. If Kilkenny is as promising as he sounds he is and we have the frontrunning for his services, then the club needs to make sure dialogue is always occurring and that they are fostering this relationship

International recruits can provide an exceptional bonus to the playing list due to the minimal draft outlay you need to provide to add these players to the list. Simply commit to the player and set aside your last selection in the rookie draft.

Dont let those a@seholes at dawkland swoop!

here's the last quarter of the VFL game Stringer played for Bendigo. The whole game would take until after the draft to download

nice little dummy by Jake here http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=6J8cXbpCngM#t=650s

Full disclosure - I am by no means an expert on the kids across the country and am a YouTube recruiter...

...that being said, Stringer looks an absolute gem. I've read all the Phantoms on him and done a fair bit of research and - injury aside - seems a beast in the making. Appears to have his head screwed on the right way too which is always a massive plus. From what I've read it seems he'll do anything and everything to get back to where he was prior to the break. If that's the case then whoever drafts him will have M. Pavlich v2.0.

I'd happily take him at 11, however if that's gone and he slides to 17, well thank you very much!

Dees may swoop on giant
Former Adelaide recruiter Matt Rendell, who did some specialist ruck coaching with the SA side at this year's under-18 championships, liked what he saw from the athletic ruckman, who earned All Australian honours for the second year running.

"He's clearly the best ruckman in the draft system at the moment," Rendell says.

Fat chance if they're forced to use pick three on Viney. And they trade their other pick for a mini-draft selection to land Jesse Hogan. Though you can see the logic with Jamar a veteran and Gawn injury prone.

how far could grundy slide? if melbourne passed surely he wouldn't get passed the dogs or port adelaide

As good as Grundy may be, a ruckman wouldn't be on top of the Western Bulldogs' list of priorities. I would think that they'd pass on him if he was still available at their first selections.

They need a succession plan for Minson.

From the games I've seen them, Cordy was used more as a forward and Roughead as a defender.

So another ruck wouldn't be unwelcome...

You are right another ruck wouldn't be unwelcome, but if they are going to bring one in I would imagine it would be someone with a little more experience.

Between Roughead, Cordy and Campbell they seem to have something to work with. Not sure what the benefit would be of bringing in another young ruckman that needs to be developed.
