No rating of Jakchs? Don't class Stringer as KP?
Lyon has turned walters around.

We need to draft the following type of players in the 2012 draft:
Key Back with the strength & speed of McPharlin with a touch of Johnson class and skill
Key forward with the strength & marking ability of Cloke with the class and skill of Pavlich
Midfielder with the speed & strength of Dangerfield with the class of Mundy.
If we can get those type of players, we will be unstoppable!
Really like the look of Garlett, he was great in the championships and kicked probably the goal of the tournament.
I see him going to West Coast though as I think he will be available still at their first pick, probably because we will go for a KPP.
What does everyone think of Paparone? Saw glimpses of him in the championships and looks very good, quite a good sized forward who is good below the knee's and seems to get quite a bit of the ball

The list is W.A. prospects. Jaksch and Stringer are Victorians.
Whoa, hopefully you guys can teach Talentman how to respond to an innocent question without sounding condescending.
Set shot is poor, works well in open space, snatches at overhead marks.
Rarely brings in contested grabs, as you say agile enough, great tank, ok below his knees.
More of a third tall, link up option. I'd really love to see how he'd go behind the ball, shame we havent seen that this year.

Way to cultivate that holier than thou persona you have there.
Here's my assessment of the KP picks in this years draft from W.A, ranked in order.
1. Jesse Hogan
2. Mason Shaw
3. Brant Colledge
4. Tom Lee
5. Marco Paparone
6. Alex Howson
Fair to say Fremantle will end up with 2 or more of this crop on their payroll by the end of the recruiting season.
Michael Close (195cm forward - North Ballarat)
Another tall, and yet another who has been hampered by injuries this year. Close started the season well, playing around CHF and as the backup ruckman. And he had a good match for Vic Country too against Queensland, but unfortunately injured his ankle and didn't play again during the Championships. Close still has some filling out to do, but he is a strong mark. Just needs to find some more consistency, and find a way to impact the scoreboard every game.
Spencer White (194cm forward - Western Jets)
At the start of the year, I had White as one of my top KPFs to watch. That was based largely on potential rather than performances at the time, but as the year has gone on he has started to perform more consistently. And I still wouldn't put it past him to go in the second round, he offers something different to the other prospects. He still has a long way to go, particularly needs to focus on what he does when he isn't kicking for goal because often he can go missing. But he is a big strong target up forward, is very good in the air and is an accurate shot on goal.
Liam Flaherty (195cm forward - Eastlake)
Liam is a 19 year old tall forward from the ACT, and is part of the GWS Academy but I'd expect a number of other teams to have him well and truly on their radar. He missed most of last year with a hamstring injury, so you could essentially take this as his draft year. He has played in the Championships for NSW, as well as both U18s and senior football back home in Canberra. He looks to be a really talented player - strong hands, good speed around the ground and he is clean below his knees. But most importantly, he kicks goals.
Jackson Coleman (196cm forward - Sandringham)
I was really quite disappointed that Coleman didn't get picked up last year, was hoping that Fremantle would give him a shot actually. He is a big strong kid, with very strong hands. Last year, he kicked close to 40 goals for the season in the TAC Cup. And this year as a 20 year old, he has made his VFL debut and has been solid with an average of 2 goals a game. Last year, you could just see him improving with every game and he has all the signs of being a late developer. Hopefully he gets his chance this year.
Josh Porter (194cm forward - Murray Bushrangers)
Porter appears to be a relative unknown on these boards, as he is not getting much interest. But he is another with a lot of good attributes, and should be looked at purely for his size and contested marking ability. He missed last season with a foot injury, but this year he has held down the CHF position and has been getting better each week. His kicking could maybe do with a bit of work, but for someone as big and strong as he is, his defensive work is surprisingly good.
Good to hear Lyon still believes we need KPF.
Halfway through the season he said something about our key forward stocks are very bare.
When i heard that i thought, great he is going to try and fix that problem in the draft.
Then hearing him talk about how our mids arent up to it and we need more quality, made me think oh crap here we go again more flanker types who could play mid come draft time.
Clay Cameron (191cm defender - Mt Gravatt)
While I think the Gold Coast will have to pass on some of the Queensland talent due to list management, I can't see them saying no to Cameron - if for some reason they did, I'd take him in the second round. I rated him as one of the best KPPs in the draft coming into the season, and that was regardless of if he played up forward or down back. Unfortunately he had an interrupted start of the season and never quite showed what he is truly capable of - but he has performed well in the AFL/AIS Academy. Strong above his head and above average athletically, I like him as a CHB personally.
Andrew Boston (180cm midfielder - Broadbeach)
If they didn't already have issues with list size, I doubt the Gold Coast would hesitate in signing Boston as a zone selection. He'd be the best midfielder to come out of Queensland this year, and would be a great fit for them. He has a strong body after playing in the seniors for two years, and is a real leader on the field. But he also some flair to his game, both in terms of skills and an ability to go forward. Looks to be a very well rounded player, and would probably be more appreciated if he played for a Division 1 team.
Or, people could read before they post.
And while I'm here, there is another tricky little option I'd like to see us looking at in trade week. Last year, the Gold Coast signed Dayne Zorko as a Queensland zone selection, and then traded him to Brisbane. The Suns still have priority access to Queenslanders this year, and I'd like to see us take advantage of that. There are two players in particular that I like...
Not sure what we could offer, because the Suns already have an issue in terms of list size. But I'd offer up our second rounder, and see what happened.
I actually did read and most importantly watch Paparone and thought he looked quite handy, never said we should use our first draft pick on him, so I don't really understand the defensive response.
Maybe I offended you by saying he looked 'Very' good, so I will change that to 'reasonably' good, maybe even good enough for a pick in the second round; taking into consideration those KPP's rated above him are gone
Read.
I agree, Massive, fast, skilled, and agile - Shearry or Wallace might be worth a chance, also Yoshi Harris sounds like a good prospect.Anyone interested in a 195 - 201cm athletic freak that wouldn't take up a rookie spot or salary cap space? http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/147940/default.aspx
I'd love to see us give one of the Americans a go. Nothing to lose, everything to gain.
