Is it "real" or "really" old?

Anyway, I wonder if Stijk is the first AFL player to do the contract year trick. Last time he played this well he was trying to get off the rookie list and as I recall he bent us over a bit saying he'd go to Collingwood (Or Collingwood said they'd take him).

Had the misfortune of going to watch the Demons today.

McInnes played well. Attacked the footy and took some ripping contested marks, but his kicking was atrocious and really burnt his teammates.

Ash Smith was terrible. Beaten hands down in one on one marking contests on numerous occasions. Provided no drive from defense and was intent on receiving cheapies. Was being heavily rotated.

Tunbridge looks fat and was pretty much useless.

Yep, you are certainly correct as the Queens English applies - I think we all understand the "it's gettin' real old" reference though.

Most people who want to discuss footy are over Dick and Cox jokes. So we are moving on.

Weedon didn't line up for Claremont today. Sounds like a last minute decision on Butler's fitness will be made tomorrow.
we always hold over an emg for a Sunday game don't we?

If Butler was likely to miss we wouldve held over two

Stevens only 12 touches and a goal?

Dayle Garlett kicked 4 goals from 19 touches in the seniors.

Was good when he was on the field, got a shoulder injury early in the second, went off and came back on only to get hit twice again in that quarter, struggled after that as did Easts in general. Claremont dominated for the most part.

favourite play for me would have to be in the second half when east freo had managed to get it out of defence and started working the ball forward with numbers, until the unfortunate moment when an east freo bloke would run into the all mighty tom swift who layed a brilliant front on tackle with a certain "f*** the haters" feel to it

PS The Dick 'jokes' are getting old, as is the McGovern height shitfight. I've started deleting both, and I'll start carding if it continues. (If Swans had lost today I'd have started carding a lot sooner)

Lined up on Mitch Brown when he went forward today, so i had a good look at the height of McGovern;) . It was good battle actually, McGovern tried to pull Brown up the ground and create space behind him for Jones and co, got him out of position a couple of times.
Brown managed to get away with the biggest push in the back since the turn of the century.

Is Dick avoiding tackles that test his shoulder? His ability to tackle and hold up his opponent is important, and in his last year with Collingwood, he did not seem to put pressure on his more fragile areas through applying tackles on moving targets.

Tis was a good full body tackle. Still managed to kick the ball out on the full twice though, one was 15m out on a tight angle.

One step at a time, we don't want to introduce goal kicking just yet... ;)

also on second reading of my summary i may have been a bit harsh on stevens. he did put his body on the line when his team needed him to. my comments about him being a bit immature still stand but i do think he will be a good footballer if he can fix a few things

What I've found with koby is that he seems preoccupied on putting his asset (size) to use at the expense of winning the ball.

yeah but most of his kicks (around 80%) hit a target
Needs to consistently have that impact at AFL level. We've all seen him play well but we've also seen some major face palm moments. Most people remember the latter, obviously.
If he can put on significant size over the offseason, providing he gets recontracted, he will still make it IMO. Til then needs to consistently dominate WAFL games to keep his confidence up.
