yeah lets give up pick 13 for an injured, one dimensional 27 year old who Gold Coast dont even want.

Surely you are kidding.

Surely you're kidding - very good player, very underrated player.

He'll be 27 next season.

Don't even want? We would love to keep him. He still has a year left on his contract, though has apparently asked for a trade with the Dees right into him.

Again, all speculation and rumours

That three spuds=1 quality player
Petterd isn't a spud he'd have good value. Morton would have value given his age and possible potential, Joel is well... yeah.

Amusing that you're still defending this. Morton is a pea-heart who can't put on weight and has massive confidence issues; Petterd has talent but doesn't seem to want to apply himself; Joel tries hard but has suspect disposal under pressure. Most importantly though, GC have to reduce their list from 46 to 42, so why would they want to take on three average players from a terrible club? Just means they have to delist another two kids.

Rubbish idea sorry.

Meh, I don't particularly care about something I took 12 seconds to type and less to come up with. Maybe it's feasible maybe not, just spitballing it. I don't rate Morton but there are teams that would still think he could blossom in a different setting. See the Bulldogs wanting Bate for reference. Ricky again I'm not defending his season but I have no doubt he has currency in the trade market. As I thought would be obvious I tacked on Joel because I don't want him on our team. :)

We've got some rumours on our board that Rischitelli could be on his way to the Demons through a trade. Nothing in media yet, but some of our posters with some sources think it could be happening.

Would be surprised if he went myself, being our deputy vice Captain, but what would you guys want for him? Had a horror 2012 with injury, but his 2011 was pretty good.
Wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole. Could think of about 8 guys in line that would be better value than him

People have got to stop looking at where a player was drafted. Morton was pick 4, so he must have potential. No, Morton is a wiry, weak, passionless player who player who constantly crushes momentum and is terrible under pressure. Draft number means nothing, or at least this should be our attitude, and in fact has been the problem for our club. Too many people are relying on numbers than the cold hard facts.

I agree on Morton. Has lost any value he had, I would trade him for a pick around the 50 mark if it was on offer. He's had long enough to show his worth and is still not getting a regular game in one of the worse sides. Needs to go on a steroid/protein diet for a preseason.
Which is exactly why we wouldn't trade him.

As much of a whipping boy as he is, his ceiling is much higher than a pick 50.

I would do 13 on its own for Caddy.

Really? I just thought considering his original draft position (7) and a couple of years in the system would increase his currency.

I'll be honest i haven't really seen him play this year and have no idea how good he is (or if we even want him) but last year i seem to remember the trade demands for him were quite high.

He's done fairly well this year and got himself a RS nom. Like I said, 13 I would be take myself, but not much later than that.

Thing is, it hasn't been a spectacular two years from Caddy (i.e. you'll still ask for Prestia or Lynch's value - around pick 10 - in a trade) so that does drop his value a bit.

I'm just not sure whether Melbourne will see more in a Menzel or Kennedy or Stringer versus a Caddy, who to be fair, I heard was happier now up north than he was at this point last year.

It's funny how much we value a draft pick over a proven quantity. Pick 13 is not necessarily going to get us a good player, yeah we could get a Selwood but plenty of failures at that stage of the draft too. Atleast we know Caddy will play, maybe he won't be a star but will improve our side dramatically. I think 13 for Caddy is about right, if we can get Risch in too, maybe 4 if they give us a sweetner, say their second choice and throw in Toy.

Will make for intersting viewing.
