Luke ball and macaffer would be my must gets. Swanny too if your willing to fork out that much cash. Would say Cloke is a must get as well. Lynch too but he'll be playing deeper and dont like having 2 kf from one team

(Only know on dt) macaffer might not be a definite starter but hes the same price as a high pick rookie, but hes definitely going to score more.

My take on the NAB Round 1 Pool 1 games.

  • Keep an eye on Nick Lower over the next few weeks. He looked good tonight and scored well in DT. He's $379,500 and would be a gamble but it could be a unique pick and could pay off.
  • Goddard looks to be a lock in.
  • I'll also keep an eye on Heppell and reckon he'll be a good buy this year. $450k
  • Courtenay Dempsey is interesting, he started last year with a bang and fizzled out as soon as I bought him (Actually I think he might have gotten injured and then didn't get back to his early season form). At $418k he is a bit risky, but if he can replicate his early season form from last year consistently I wouldn't want to miss out.
  • Brett Goodes could sneak into my team as a bench option. $128k
  • Boyd continued where he left off last year.
  • It is very difficult not to judge the superstars on NAB cup form for SuperCoach purposes, even when you know it's the wrong thing to do (I have Pendles in my team instead of Swanny but I'm begining to think I can't leave Swanny out).
  • Blairy looked good but I get a feeling he is a start of the year specialist. (I don't think I'll pick him but you could definitely do worse, he's a safe pick)
  • Krakouer is all class but looks to be lacking in fitness, was huffing and puffing after his brilliant goal late in the Coll vs Ess game (keep an eye on him over the next couple of weeks). $291k - Might be worth waiting to see how Didak ($304k) shapes up in the next game if you want one of the Collingwood small forwards.
  • Heath Shaw looked good and helped me rest assured he is a good pick. $541k

I'll answer in dot points:
  • Yes Jolly is fit. He is unlikely to get through a season however, even if fit.
  • Witts will likely be our back-up ruck.
  • Hudson is currently on the rookie list so unless he is promoted cannot play. The feeling is he will be a mature back-up to Jolly in the event of a LTI only.
  • Grundy is out of action with back stress fractures currently.
There is a bit of uncertainty in our rucks this season outside of Jolly being number 1. My opinion would be to steer clear of our rucks in fantasy footy.

Hey Guys,
Just finished my Supercoach team (draft 1). Please provide some constructive feedback.

  • I think Yarran ($363k) is a better buy than Henderson ($355k) if you want a Carlscum player in your team.
  • You have 5 big KPF's in your forward line/bench which I think is a bit risky. I usually try to steer clear of the big men as they are so inconsistent.
  • If you spend 100k on a rookie and sell him at 250k that is still a better buy than spending 190k and selling him at 300k. I realise it's early days but you should do your best to pick the cheaper rookies who will play (unless you think the expensive rookie is so good it'll pay off). O'meara is about $70k cheaper than Toumpas.
  • Patful has never had a good average in SC, I'd change him.
  • I think Coniglio is a bit risky at that price
  • Maybe swap Grundy for Witts if Grundy is injured.
  • I doubt Ceglar will play, maybe Daniel Currie could be a better chance to play but I guess all the rookie selections need to be adjusted due to NAB cup form and whispers.

Round 1 Pool 3 Supercoach notes
  • Jake Neade ($115k) looked good and seems to be the sort of player Port need in their forward line so I think he'll start round 1.
  • Oliver wines ($169k) looked great in the first game but I didn't notice him in the second so I guess he didn't get much game time there.
  • Brad Crouch ($115k) went ok in both games and is a bargain.
  • Farren Ray ($368k) looked good but I need more convincing before I'd consider him.
  • Jack Steven ($480k) could be worth a look, I think he still has room for improvement. Watch over the next few weeks.
  • Kane Mitchell ($126k) turned it on in the second game
  • Monfries ($356k) might be worth a look this year as it is expected that he will get extra midfield time at Port. Scored well in DT.
  • Looks like Josh Jenkins ($363k) might be your man if you're looking for a mid priced ruck who is also dual position. He looks to be in prime position to take over Tippets old role in the forward line.

Hey guys does Jordan Russell have a spot in your best 22 at the moment or is he just depth. need a replacement foe Brodie Smith who broke his collerbone today
It's a little unknown. He's on the fringe which I guess isn't a great sign at this stage, but if he plays well he'll be in the team. FWIW I thought he did play well for NAB Cup round 1.

Ok thanks for that. whose spot do you see him chasing?

Yeah Sharkey i believe Jordan gives us more steel/ready made experience and allows us to release types such as HarryO/Heater.

Last year many of our kids played a half a dozen games or more - hopefully this year they wont be exposed as often, or if they do it'll be more in terms of form/experience rather than necessity.

Russell to me is very flexible in the roles he could play, also - with senior types such as Daisy, and Bally not necessarily raring to go round one - Jordan should have a great opportunity to be selected round one - the rest is up to him i guess. Ot The way he played last Friday - he has just got to be given a crack early!

Whats your Predictions on what Beams, Pendles and Swan will average this year??

Swanny or Pendles for SC? Tough choice. I had Pendles 1st with his elite efficiency but Swanny just looks primed this pre-season.

Hi Fellas,

Ben Reid worth a shot in the backline as a point of difference. Injured last year but has pulled some high SC scores in games in the past. Or is he too much of a risk?

Last spot to fill in my team (forward). Kennedy v Macaffer (they're probably my two favoured options at this stage). Any thoughts, or just wait until the team is announced (and hope at least one of them is in it)?

Hi all,

Will Sam Dwyer get much of a run early.
Also Jordan Russell looks good at his price, will he be a weekly starter?
Thanks in advance!!!

He's the type that picks up niggles. Doubt he'll play all games this season and in doubt for round one. Can pull some small scores too.

Kennedy is a lock in his side. Macaffer is not at Collingwood. Macaffer hasn't played in two years and has only put together half a season of top class footy in his career to date. He's a high risk decent possibly decent return type player.

Is Fasolo looking better?

Are any rookies going to get a game?

How has Daisy looked?

Fasolo is injured and will miss round one and likely more.

Daisy has been injured all preseason. Hasn't played yet. He's a possibility for round one perhaps as the sub or a forward. Midfield where he scores better is unlikely early. He might be a good upgrade option a few weeks in as he may drop in value early.

I'm in a position where if I downgrade Luke Brown to Jack Frost I can upgrade Martin to Bartel.
I feel it's a good move if Frosty's gonna get more than a couple of games but I'm not very confident about that, what do you guys think?
