Pretty cool moment today with the women's final. Congrats to Pennetta, was not expecting this before the tournament.

Djoko in 5 for me tomorrow.

My mum is Italian born and she likes her tennis, so this morning I know that she was absolutely thrilled and excited. I agree Matt, it was a pretty special moment today. Both Pennetta and Vinci are very likeable and it is so good to see someone like Vinci make a GS final, with her game style. It still goes to show you that tennis is not just about bashing the ball hard all the time. And Pennetta, what a way to end your career, go out on an absolute high. She has had some very decent results at Flushing Meadows, so it is not a complete shock.

Looking forward to tomorrow. Fed in 4, possibly 3.

I suspect Vinci would rue the fact she got over the biggest hurdle, beating Williams. Then losing the final to some within her range.
It happens. Djokovic beat Nadal at Roland Garros this year and went on to lose to Wawrinka in the final. Pennetta didn't have an easy run to the final. Stosur in the 4th round in what was actually a pretty good match with some quality tennis. Then beat Kvitova in the 1/4 final and Halep in the semis.

It was nice final to watch, very different tennis to what we normally and both were great stories to be able to get there.

The change to a late afternoon timeslot has probably been a saviour in hindsight. 4pm original start then rain delays so start at 8pm.
Better than 6 or 7pm with delays forcing it back until 10/11pm of if at all...

Federer needs some easy points on his serve. Usually it's super reliable, but he just isn't hitting his spots at the moment.

Edit: Essentially what Marmilk said.
