Knightmare's caught onto a player I've had time for for several seasons now in big local lad Rowan Marshall, thought he was worth a shot in his draft year, seems he's grown 3 or 4 cms too since his draft year, seriously good overhead, mobile and a beautiful kick for a tall. Way better than Luke Lowden and Paul Hunter and a good back up for our KPP's having played both CHF and CHB at a good standard as well as Ruck in the TAC Comp and VFL. Posted some footage a few pages back,

Knightmare's piece:
Firmly in the mix to be selected in the national draft is developing North Ballarat ruckman Rowan Marshall. The 203cm big man, who will turn 21 in November, has shown significant growth in the VFL this season and has shown ability both through the ruck and up forward. His tackling this season has proven particularly impressive along with his mobility and involvement around the ground.

Ridley and Galluci (venables Hayward and Powell pepper will be gone )
Yeah for me it would be between those two, Hayward (who I think will still be there) and Drew.

Also, what's people's thoughts on Jye Bolton with a late pick? Haven't watched much WAFL at all this year, but he was the Sandover medallist and averaged 29 disposals a game - would he be a good, late pick, Menegola-like selection who can contribute well from the get go?

Sooner go Ben Ronke with a 4th round onwards pick, blitzed it in in his only 2 games of VFL I'm told, absolutely not a shadow of doubt he's AFL ready year 1. Speed I've seen up close.

What's your boy Ronke's accumulation/tank like? Does he need to develop it in order to consistently get 20 disposals or more a game?

On what I've seen would not be a problem and he's flying under the radar because he didn't play championships and was a latecomer to the TAC Comp, way better than the pick he'll likely go for IMO.

I'm keen to see some tape of him and Lipinski ... maybe YouTube ..... he didn't test at combine bicks ? Was he invited ?

I'm starting to think Hayward could go 1st round or at least top 20

Come with a rush last few months - think he's later born too ??!!

More evidence of what we've been saying all along, this is a good and strong draft..

Western Bulldogs list manager Jason McCartney is happy with the club's position in the top 30 picks of the draft, after getting pick 26 from the Suns.

He also thanked Nathan Hrovat, who has been traded to North Melbourne, for his efforts during his time at the club.

"We wish Nathan all the best at North Melbourne and thank him for his contribution over the past four years," McCartney said in a statement.

"We've identified a strong top 30 in this year's draft, and we think holding picks 18 and 26 will see us head into the draft in a good position."

Being a West supporter
Do you think Connor Noonan will get picked up
it looks like he did well in the SA state combine

No chance. Lachie Cameron and Jamie Hampton are the two WAFC boys worth looking at.
Conor falls into the old adage of "Cant Kick you Cant Play" unfortunately. If Hugh Haysman didnt get picked last year for this reason, Conor's disposal is worse.

I think if he's not drafted we'd have to rookie him surely, heaps of talent, only reason he's not more on the radar is down to injury and lack of exposure at the Championships. Gut feeling late or rookie just depends if the clubs have been monitoring him closely over the last 2 years.

Hampton I really like, surely a club takes a chance on him purely on speculation of what he might be capable of with an AFL system behind him.

Hugh Haysman is a far better player than Noonan. In fact, IMO so are Jack Agostino and Jaydn Brind.
