Can't see us taking jars and another one of these types in main draft , maybe as one of rookie selections I guess

I really think Jarman's not your typical nippy small forward, I see guys like Tyson Stengle, Jarmaine Jones and to a lesser extent Sam Fowler more in the Eddie Betts/Charlie Cameron mould also being capable of putting on plenty of defensive pressure with their closing speed, Jarmaine Jones I've seen up up close and as well as having innate goal sense he attacks the contest with ferocity and can really lay a bone crunching tackle. I'd love to grab him in the rookie draft and see how he develops.

At this stage I'm not quite sure where Ben Jarman's best spot is at AFL level??
Will be interesting to see what position he does end up playing at AFL level.

THE AFL looks set to appoint fulltime coaches in the TAC Cup as part of a broad shake-up of elite junior football that could eventually see under-18 sides formally aligned to AFL clubs.

The league and AFL Victoria have begun work on a major restructure of the talent pathway, with changes expected to be rolled out over coming seasons.

The moves aim to better align the work done in the TAC Cup system with school football and the AFL’s new multicultural and indigenous academies.

The Herald Sun revealed in May that Collingwood had sought feedback from the AFL about the possibility of forming an alliance with the Oakleigh Chargers and other clubs have since registered their interest with the league in exploring similar arrangements.

The Magpies subsequently hired veteran football operations boss Graeme “Gubby” Allan to oversee the club’s father-son, multicultural and indigenous academies and its women’s football and netball programs.

Future arrangements could see TAC Cup teams training and playing at AFL club venues, such as Collingwood’s Holden Centre and Victoria Park.
Collingwood has previously sought feedback from the AFL about forming an alliance with the Oakleigh Chargers.
The AFL is adamant that any future ties between league clubs and the TAC Cup teams will not involve draft concessions.

The benefits it sees in such associations include an expected uplift in the quality of draft candidates because of access to AFL level coaching and facilities.

The junior comp would also benefit from the commercial and brand power of the AFL clubs.

A more centralised system could see some of the talent managers now independently working the regions moved to AFL Victoria offices to work across multiple regions.
TAC Cup team officials were briefed on some of the changes in a series of meetings at AFL House on Tuesday.
AFL club chief executives were told at this month’s CEO conference about the AFL’s expectations of the multicultural and indigenous academies for next year — when the financial investment from the league will increase from the seed money paid to clubs to kickstart the program this season.

Went into the Ballarat Rebels vs Eastern Ranges game at Eureka Stadium today, match played in very trying conditions with plenty of wind and intermittent rain squalls all game, Rebels eventually running out winners 10.19 79 to 7.15 57. With quite a few players playing today sure to be in draft discussions.


REBELS
Willem Drew : Clearly B.O.G. and very impressive again today, found plenty of footy both inside and outside the contest, again showed his proficiency overhead with several great contested marks, linked up well in good chains of play that led to scoring opportunities, tidy disposal in the main, definitely a top prospect that we should be looking at IMO, still a little light bodied but nice height for a mid and I'd anticipate he'll continue to improve as his body matures. Really like him for our 1st pick.

Jarrod Berry : Again played midfield and had a good game doing plenty of the tough stuff inside the packs laying some real strong tackles until involved in a sickening collision with a Ranges player very early in the last quarter with both going down heavily with the Ranges player appearing concussed and Berry favouring a knee assisted off by the trainers not to re-appear. Saw Jarrod after the game with ice packs strapped on both knees and on a shin, poor bugger can't catch a break this season.

Hugh McCluggage not as dominant today looking to be heavily tagged at stages by Begley and Clarke, still involved in some nice plays where his elite disposal was again on display and as is usual for Hugh slotted 2 goals.

Cedric Cox : Really found it hard to get involved today and didn't do a whole lot, the few times he did his disposal was quite good again but needs to work harder than he did today IMO.

Jarrod Korewha : pretty ordinary game again today playing down back and after last week's ordinary game for someone considered in draft discussions will need to lift in the Finals if he hopes to get drafted.

RANGES

Jordan Galluci : Didn't do a hell of a lot today though he certainly has nice skills by foot and looks to have nice pace, personally I can't ever see him being a dominant midfielder more a HFF/HBF type and not sure there is a lot more upside there as he already looks quite well developed body wise to my eye, certainly wouldn't use our first on him.

Dylan Clarke : On what I saw today I don't see where he's in 1st round discussions, with Drew easily the dominant mid out there today, very underwhelming today and like his brother Ryan not the greatest kick either. Perhaps he just had an off day.

Jack Maibaum : solidly built KPP, reasonably mobile, played forward early then switched down back, strong overhead and a good long kick, probably not quite tall enough to compete with the current giant KPF's IMO. Certainly enough there to be draftable.

Josh Begley : built like a brick outhouse and certainly attacks the contest hard with plenty of aggression, good long kick and kicked a nice goal again today...certainly enough there to be in draft discussions.

Callum Brown : Collingwood father/son, quieter today than expected but attacks the contest hard and has very nice skills, not very big and doesn't play at all like his father Gavin.

Some of the under agers were impressive today especially Jaiyden Stephenson who looks a "real" player, Ruckman Sam Hayes probably beaten today by big Lloydie Meek but looks a very good prospect for next year draft, Aiden Domic very quick and great skills, Jordan Johnston another with excellent skills and some real X factor.

With Berry his lack of exposure this year through a series of niggles needs to be factored in to calculations and I have absolutely no doubt he would have gone inside the top ten if he had continuity, absolute high character young man and a born leader captaining the Rebels, Vic Country and the AFL Academy teams this year, capable of playing high quality footy in a range of positions mid/forward/back and IMO capable of being a serious contributor in the AFL from day one. Only played 3 quarters yesterday after copping a bad corked thigh in a sickening collision only a minute into the last quarter resulting in the Ranges guy copping a concussion. Don't let anyone ever tell you he is an "outside" player as I've read in places, that is just so far from the truth it's laughable, one of the bravest kids I've ever seen play, attacks the contest with no fear and real ferocity.

Meek I'd consider for a rookie spot, big, solid lad, takes a good grab and a long kick on him, reasonably mobile, have a feeling we might go for one of the SA lads, perhaps Ladhams.

Bit of the Patty Dangerfield about him, over ager, big bodied, lightning quick, line breaking mid, very ordinary footskills.... a real smokeys chance of going surprisingly high in this draft because he's ready to go from day one.

Saw him play a few weeks ago and he was probably the best for the Cannons that day but his kicking does need work.

Weekend That Was - Round 17

BLOWOUTS, close finishes and wet weather featured in round 17 of the TAC Cup.

In the first game of the round, Calder Cannons held on to defeat a fast finishing Western Jets side.

After trailing at three-quarter time, the Jets levelled the scores twice but Jean-Luc Velissaris‘ last minute goal secured the Cannons’ spot in seventh place.

Ben Ronke was the Cannons’ best, collecting 31 disposals and seven tackles, dominating the clearances for the home side. Tyson Lever also found the footy, with 33 disposals to his name.

For the Jets, bottom-age AFL Academy member Lachlan Fogarty had a whopping 16 tackles to go with his 33 disposals. The Jets laid 96 tackles with Brodie Romensky (12 tackles) also hitting double figures, but it wasn’t enough to get the Jets over the line.

Forward Cameron Rayner backed up his bag of seven from the week before with five goals.

Up in Ballarat, the cold weather suited the home side with North Ballarat Rebels accounting for the Eastern Ranges by 22-points.

Hugh McCluggage continued his sublime form with 29 disposals and two goals, while Willem Drew was a standout in the contested situations with 30 disposals, seven marks and nine tackles for the afternoon.

Dylan Clarke once again found the football for the Ranges with 33 disposals and nine tackles, but his kicking let him down once again going at less than 50%.

At Deakin Reserve, Oakleigh Chargers pulled off a surprise upset over the highly rated Murray Bushrangers.

The Chargers led at all the main breaks to take the four points, winning by 14-points. Jack Higgins continued his good ball winning capabilities with 31 disposals, but it was Louis Cunningham (24 disposals) who shone across half back and was Oakleigh’s best.

Patrick Kerr made his return from a finger injury, but was well held by Ryan Garthwaite who kept him to a single goal.

Will Brodie had 20 disposals but attracted close attention from his opponents at the stoppages. Harry Morrison has shown some good signs since returning from a back injury and finished the afternoon with 17 disposals.

Out at Preston, Gippsland Power were far too strong for Northern Knights winning by 47-points.

Ben Ainsworth showed he is more than just a small forward, collecting 26 disposals and booting three goals. Ainsworth spent most of the first quarter in the middle, before playing the rest of the game forward pinch hitting through the middle.

Nathan Voss was also lively inside 50, finishing with three goals.

For the Knights, Lachlan Murphy racked up 28 disposals spending most of the contest on the inside. Patrick Lipinski was quiet, but still managed to accumulate 23 disposals but it was Lachlan Wilson who finished as the leading ball winner with 35 disposals and six marks.

Sandringham Dragons went into their clash with Bendigo Pioneers, knowing that a victory by about 25 goals was going to be enough to snatch fourth spot off the Bushies.

At half-time, all signs pointed to that result with Dragons leading 87 to six. However, Bendigo hit back in the third term winning the quarter by a point.

The last quarter showed that Sandy can’t become complacent with many players running forward of the ball in an attempt to score with some moments of play that screamed out players being selfish. In the end, the Dragons won by 96-points but not enough to avoid an elimination final.

Andrew McGrath was the standout for Sandringham with 40 disposals and nine clearances, with Tim Taranto also prominent with 33 disposals, nine marks and eight tackles. Will Setterfield played his best game of the season finishing the afternoon with 29 disposals in an effort that would’ve pleased the GWS recruiters who were watching on.

Jack Scrimshaw had 21 disposals, but his ball use at times was poor with multiple clangers affecting his overall kicking efficiency. Hamish Brayshaw spent most of the game up forward, kicking 4.4.

The young Pioneers side didn’t have too many positives, but bottom-ager Lochie O’Brien was their standout with 24 disposals. Laine Fitzgerald (26 disposals and 10 marks) and Darby Henderson (27 disposals) showed the future is bring for the Pioneers.

The final match of the round at Simonds Stadium had everything to play for, with the winner being proclaimed as the TAC Cup minor premiers.

In a match that seesawed for most of the day, Dandenong Stingrays ran out winners by 14-points over Geelong Falcons.

Mason De Wit used his left boot well finishing the afternoon with 22 disposals, while Myles Poholke backed up his good game against Murray with 21 disposals and six marks.

Paddy Dowling (28 disposals), Mitch Diamond (25 disposals) and Sam Simpson (23 disposals) worked hard through the midfield for the Falcons but they were unable to hang on with the Stingrays booting the last three goals of the contest.

We have more KPF
Dear, Greenwood, Hunter, McGovern (Currently playing as a 4th but can play KPF,) And ROB can play key forward.
Ramsey if they re-rookie him.
Now if they move on Dear or Ramsey then yes look for a KPF.
Need to remember the biggest issue we have with our SANFL side is at times are too tall in the Forward Line.
