McGrath and Scrimshaw class above in TAC cup GF

Taranto and Brodie also good but issues with disposal at times

Florent was also good

And the big Fijian Rata was raw but exciting at times

I wonder if Marshall slides through to pick 13 and what would happen , it's unlikely he slides that far in any case

Today's game : McGrath>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>anyone else out there

Pity we don't have a 2nd...I wouldn't hesitate to keep GWS honest and bid on Zach Sproule.

Harrison Burt looked decent too for someone not mentioned in the media.

Wasn't able to watch it, unfortunately. Apparently Taranto wasn't as good as normal, despite his numbers being high again? Sounds like Florent and Scrimshaw did well.

Taranto got a lot of it but didn't do much with it today, still think he's likely gone before our pick anyway.

I'd have a crack at a similar type player [mid/forward] Myles Poholke, big body, elite overhead, decent kick if he's still there in the 3rd round...doesn't get the accolades he deserves...IMO a better prospect than Joe Atley with more scope.

Worry a bit about his disposal at the moment. Also hasn't shown much to me that he can transition into the midfield. I'd be looking for players who are mids first, but can go forward.

That said, I don't mind Poholke as a prospect.

Bicks - notice that McGrath was wayyyyy better in defence than midfield . His second half was in defence and he had something like 28 possessions there for the half

I like Sakeson's game on Marshall including his offence

I've seen quite a bit of Sproule and wouldn't put him in same league as himmelberg last year ( similar type )

Burt was really good

Taranto's kicking is average , rest of his game is excellent

Scrimshaw could end up the best player on that lot , his quickness of decision making is already AFL standard

Sproule will come a fair bit cheaper than Himmelberg but....I like him, plenty there to work with and kicks well for a big lad.

Isn't there word around that Marshall's pretty banged up after a long season and probably shouldn't have played the last few weeks?

Next year's prospects...

AFL Academy Scholarship holder Darcy Fogarty has guided the Red team to a 60-point victory in the inaugural SANFL U17 Futures match at Adelaide Oval on Sunday.

Coached by SANFL Talent and Programs Co-ordinator Julian Farkas, the Red team was far too strong for the Blue outfit, leading at every change in the first match on SANFL IGA League Grand Final day.

Glenelg’s Fogarty – a member of the Tigers’ U18 Macca’s Cup winning team last weekend – received strong support from Sturt ball magnet Mitch Crowden and talented South Adelaide utility Nathan Krueger.

North’s Hugo Barry was the leading goal kicker for the Red team with three majors while Norwood’s Lachlan Pascoe (son of former Redleg Andrew) and Eagle James Rowe (son of former Crow Stephen) kicked two goals each.

Sturt giant Callum Coleman-Jones – measuring in at 199cm and 98kg - was the strongest performer for the Blues team, while Central’s Ryan Falkenberg and Glenelg’s Jackson Edwards, the son of dual premiership Crow Tyson, also played well.

SANFL U17 FUTURES GAME

Red 2.2 6.6 9.7 16.9 (105)
Blue 0.1 1.7 3.7 6.9 (45)

BEST – Red: Fogarty, Crowden, Krueger, Pascoe, Gerloff, Irra.
Blue: Coleman-Jones, Falkenberg, Edwards, Martini, Heitmann, Giro.

GOALS – Red: Barry 3, Pascoe, Rowe, Denton 2, Buchanan, Siviour, Mellor, Gerloff, Lawrie, Coles, Beenham.
Blue: Coleman-Jones, Miller, Weidemann, Fitt, Davis, Snelling.

Yes he's done but will try get up for next weeks best of draft game

Slight chance he slides to 13 and we would take him I'd say but he will likely be gone which may be a blessing for our needs

Sharenberg picked in the centre of team of the year but we have posters saying he is a third rounder, think we will wait and see on that
Point to where anyone said Scharenberg was a third round pick....link please?
All I've seen are posters suggesting he has slipped down the ratings this season from what was considered to be a lock for top ten at the start of the year and could even slip through to the 2nd round.......and that there are others with more outstanding attributes i.e. speed, spread, scope for improvement...with Scharenberg what you see, is what you get.

Bicks

Reckon he's a 2nd rounder, to be fair.
I've always said I won't be overly surprised if we or our enemies down the road take him with a 1st round pick if only because of the no go home factor, what I would be surprised with would be an interstate club using a 1st round pick on Scharenberg.....he's a good, solid midfielder and a certainty to play good AFL footy in that role.
I just think there are others in our pick range that offer more point of difference to what we already and are also capable of playing other roles in the team better than Scharenberg as required...I se him as basically a one trick pony [midfield].

Didn't mind him grabbing 27 possessions playing league footy for the bays earlier this year

I see Scharenberg as having high footy smarts - he knows how to read the taps, gain first possession, and keep arms high in a tackle. Problem is he really lacks athleticism and isn't very versatile. Still could develop into a very useful player, but he's more an early-mid 2nd round prospect for mine.

I have him and Hayward as the two top SA prospects at this stage.

I saw him play against Sturt late in the season, and he spent a lot of time across HB and he looked clean and composed when he got the ball.

Villis has had a good year, but not as good as sharenberg
