Anyone have a bad feeling that we will get screwed this year, the rules will be changed due to new Tanking
claims over Bombers/Lions, Dockers/Gold Coast?
Brisbane will be given compensation picks, and who really wins the match with the Suns?
Will the AFL convert to a lottery system for the bottom four clubs?
So instead of SPS we get Marshall? Won't be slitting my wrists.

I think the new system of priority picks is basically not meant to be used. However I can't remember a side winning one game for the entire season which is what Brisbane are standing down the barrel of if they lose to Essendon.

To add to that I think an end of first round selection is more likely than a pick which effects our first pick.

They need money. One more "pick 1 to 9" player on their list isn't going to help.

Also means we could get first pick.

Quality of the player over age, age is irrelevant.
My thoughts exactly. We took barlow as a 21 year old and those 14 games in 2010 was memorable. We used pick 21 in the 2008 draft to get a 21 year old hayden ballantyne after he kicked 70 goals in the WAFL and getting a sandover medal

Not one of those four clubs tanked. Brisbane wont get a compensation pick nor do they deserve one. The suns will, or at least I'm hoping so. No, the draft lottery wont happen this year, simply too late to do that.

"After hours of drinking and gambling and no research whatsoever, I believe Hogan is about to re-sign with Melbourne. I base this on absolutely nothing whatsoever. Luckily, I am never held to account for spewing this kind of garbage and remain on various pay rolls. Suckers."

"I telephoned Brad Lloyd during the week, and asked him if Hogan had accepted a deal with Fremantle. His response was '**** off you piece of shit, never call this number again'. It is clear that Hogan has rejected Fremantle's advances, and a long term deal with Melbourne will be announced imminently."

Relying on one player to improve our list has been done in our history before, and the cost outweighs the gain.
Croad, Headland, Carr. to name a few.
Better to wait for players out of contract, free agents, than chase contracted players, unless they Want to be
here, at least then we have some leeway.
We need to replace several players, the Crows recruiting system is worth a look at.

Has Hackdorn ever got anything right?

There's a first for almost everything...
Careful... Hackdorn getting something right is a sign of the comming apocalypse - only unspeakable horrors can follow..

(Seriously... it's right there in Revalations, it's supposed to occur sometime shortly after the Trump and the the Shout, but before the breaking of the Seventh Seal and the ascention of Hell's armies)

I'm not sure if he would want to take credit for an idea so I will keep his name quiet but we can make a digital record of all his articles and follow up which turn out to be factual and which are rubbish.

Just got this from the age.

That talk might be about GWS being interested in Essendon's likely No. 1 pick. But what about Fremantle potentially finding a way to LOBB its top draft selection to the Giants in exchange for a WA-produced ruckman-forward? I'm told the Dockers might be willing to pay some pretty decent dollars to get their hands on such a player and will have the coin to do so after expected end-of-season departures.

This from Brad Hardy

Lobb + McCathy could be a good gain, but for what?

GWS have only two players on their list above 200cms: Rory Lobb and Tom Downie.

They have every position on the field covered for years to come, bar the ruck.

Lobb's ability to play forward and ruck may well make him the most non-tradeable player on their list.

Then again they make take Clarke and a bag of magic beans.

Brad Hardie has been banging on about Freo needs to chase Lobb for a while now. I would just take it as him talking about his favourite subject again rather than there being any substance, Lobb would cost plenty
