At least our coach will know subiaco ground better than any. Still dont think those teams can be beaten there. Bloody Adelaide hard to beat at Adelaide oval aswell.

Is Sydney at SCG?

The only game i can see us winning away is a alight chance against Port we seem to do well against them at there home

What a joke of a draw. Five best interstate clubs that we only play once and they're all interstate!!! Get *****d! Oh and what a surprise, one meeting with Sydney and it's interstate, who would've guessed.

The worst bottom 4 club draw a team could get.

We've got nearly the easiest draw in the AFL - Why are people complaining !

And Adelaide's soft draws for the last 4 years have comeback to bite them - It had to happen !

I agree, the fixture is fine. However, there is no such thing as an easy draw for a side that lost to StKilda by 100+. There is no games he EFC can lock in.

How can they seriously justify Essendon vs Melbourne at the MCG year after year? Surely our club has told them what a farce this is?
More than anything I don't understand why it can't be Melbourne's home game.

It almost seems that the trade off to Melbourne getting Queen's Birthday year after year as a home game is that they never get us (or Carlton) as their home game.

It gets explained every year.

I don't think the exact specifics are known, but the Etihad contract includes a certain number of "blockbuster" games that will likely sell out.

One of those is generally Essendon v Hawthorn. Hence our 4th home game at the G usually ends up being Melbourne.

I think it's a hangover from when we played them as the home side for years when they were the only ones with a clash jumper.

Don't think its too bad really. Frankly we might as well play the strong interstate teams away as in all likelihood we'd lose to most of them even if played in Melbourne. IMO better to play the weaker interstate sides here to maximise the chances of banking those wins. While it's irritating to have not played Dockers at home in 5 years , the one that really gets me is how often we play Swans in Sydney , so often without a return fixture in Melbourne. Its been happening for 20 years not 5. Be interesting to see how often each Melbourne club has played in Sydney since 1996- I'm betting other than the Pies no-one gets within a bull's roar of us.
