Big win for Freo IMO. Hope we still have enough points for all academy boys. Hope we trade march, Pickett, Stewart, and some other players for 5. Select non academy boys with picks 3&5 and not trade these 2 for pick 1

Its an ok deal, basically it serves a purpose to allow us an elite kid before the Setterfield and Perryman bids.

The pressure is off now so even if we only get 13 from Carlton for Marchbank we will still get our the lads we want plus one really elite free hit.

I do hope we give strong consideration to Ainsworth mainly because I do think he has the specs and personality that would thrive with us. Bit of Toby Greene mongrel there.

Before we made any trades we had 5,170 points according to Cal Twomey's phantom draft he had Setterfield at 8 and Perryman at 9 no other of our academy in the top 25.

That means we only need a (potential) 2,416 points to match bids.

So we will get the three academy boys we want easily Setterfield, Perryman and McCreadie

Points will be no problem

Also don't forget Twomey always overestimates academy boy's so they could slide = less points.

For everyone saying Freo screwed us We don't care about 33 or 71 and moved up from 7 to 3 for a guy who wasn't playing for us and costing us money it's a classic win win

I'm a little surprised by the deal. I would have preferred McCarthy + 7 + 33 + 71 for 3 + something in between 33 & 71. I think this leaves us a little short changed.

Yep that looks great and let's not forget we have players yet 2 be traded (more points) so we match all bids on players we want plus get a top 3 talent.

It's not happening.
More media BS, we would only bid on either if the club genuinely believe they suit our needs the best. Dodoro rates Bowes very highly so I've said for awhile we will bid on him but the Setterfield rumour is absolute rubbish and poor journalism.

Yep.

Nobody but nobody has ever put Setterfield (or any of our players) anywhere near number one. For Essendon to bid pick one on him ahead of McCluggage, McGrath or even SPS would be a total joke and we should stay well away from it.
