Such a stupid argument. You should pick the best players regardless.Yep. Was really laying into Jacko for not standing up for WA players.

No the AFL media is full of unprofessional idiots. You think that's the way the Victorian selectors see it?

Just shows you how ridiculous the selection committee is. The fact that a selector should have to lobby the panel for a player to be selected is a joke.Yep. Was really laying into Jacko for not standing up for WA players.
He did a great job of getting Nic Nat across the line a couple of years ago. But I do agree, we surely could get a better rep.
Seems pretty fair. They've been in good form recently.Mark Duffield had the Eagles finishing at 5th in the Worst today.
You in the wrong thread?Shaved mine.
It's a Bollywood masquerade.
Progressively more embarrassing year by year.
That's it. Form says they're the in form team. It's something I've come to accept.Seems pretty fair. They've been in good form recently.
Good tip off. I mighta clicked on it.
So he thinks kangas will roll the crows?Mark Duffield had the Eagles finishing at 5th in the Worst today.
Thanks for posting that Mr Peabody. I would miss a lot of these type of interviews if it wasn't for people like you taking the time to post them.
All this does is reinforce my suspicion that he has been told that we don't want to lock him in incase an offer comes from another club that is too good to refuse (draft pick wise) but if the offers aren't huge then we will sign him up as he is worth more to us.
Micky is one hell of a great guy. Very pragmatic on where things are at but also shattered I'd imagine to have been told he is not part of their Club's rebuild plans. Probably not surprising that he suggests up to one third of the list is uncertain on where they stand at present.
It's unfortunate the rebuild has come so hard given the poor season had. But the key drivers at the Club would view that in 2008 and 2009 similar tough decisions were taken on a great proportion of the list to underpin a period of sustained competitiveness and those key people are still there.
There'll be some things that they will do differently given what they have learnt, but largely, we're likely to be in for a significant turnover of the list in a very short amount of time. RTB has often referred to the GWS and Bulldogs models, both of which took time.
Hopefully we're better positioned than in 2008 and it won't take as long and nor are we starting from ground zero like GWS. Arguably, the spine was better shaped back in 2008 with Pav, Luke and Johnno back then than we are now though this time we're probably better positioned in the midfield (except in the Ruck department) so I hope we can sort out the spine quickly and get back up there sooner.

I didn't get this emotion from the interview. I think the review went better than he thought it would. This interview just about breaks my heart, Mick sounds absolutely devastated. It's like a couple going through a really awful divorce and he's the one who's still in love.![]()
