Yep. Was really laying into Jacko for not standing up for WA players.
Just shows you how ridiculous the selection committee is. The fact that a selector should have to lobby the panel for a player to be selected is a joke.
Toby Green, Mathhew Boyd and Joel Selwood were the strange ones for me. All had good years, but I thought other players had better.

I was looking for more information on freo getting in maybe a psychologist to become a director of coaching. Has ross gone mad? Ever since ross had hair??

Mark Duffield had the Eagles finishing at 5th in the Worst today.
So he thinks kangas will roll the crows?
If Eagles win 2 finals then they are automatically in the top 4 (prelims) and if they win the first week and then lose then they finish 6th based on the ladder, unless crows lose week 1.

Nice.

He's an amazing ambassador for the FFC.

Nice.

Thanks for posting that Mr Peabody. I would miss a lot of these type of interviews if it wasn't for people like you taking the time to post them.:thumbsu:

Micky is one hell of a great guy. Very pragmatic on where things are at but also shattered I'd imagine to have been told he is not part of their Club's rebuild plans. Probably not surprising that he suggests up to one third of the list is uncertain on where they stand at present.

It's unfortunate the rebuild has come so hard given the poor season had. But the key drivers at the Club would view that in 2008 and 2009 similar tough decisions were taken on a great proportion of the list to underpin a period of sustained competitiveness and those key people are still there.

There'll be some things that they will do differently given what they have learnt, but largely, we're likely to be in for a significant turnover of the list in a very short amount of time. RTB has often referred to the GWS and Bulldogs models, both of which took time.

Hopefully we're better positioned than in 2008 and it won't take as long and nor are we starting from ground zero like GWS. Arguably, the spine was better shaped back in 2008 with Pav, Luke and Johnno back then than we are now though this time we're probably better positioned in the midfield (except in the Ruck department) so I hope we can sort out the spine quickly and get back up there sooner.

Mick will be fine, not the greatest footy player, but smarter than most of the intellectually challenged colleagues that he represents.
Thanks for your 100% commitment Mick!

All this does is reinforce my suspicion that he has been told that we don't want to lock him in incase an offer comes from another club that is too good to refuse (draft pick wise) but if the offers aren't huge then we will sign him up as he is worth more to us.

.

This interview just about breaks my heart, Mick sounds absolutely devastated. It's like a couple going through a really awful divorce and he's the one who's still in love. :(

Me too,

I didn't get this emotion from the interview. I think the review went better than he thought it would.
I am now more optimistic that we may keep him. And he seems sure he has years of football left.

"The club and I have been really mature about where I sit in the framework and that it might be best for myself to seek more opportunity elsewhere."

Sounds to me like he's been told he's not needed. I think he'll only be here next year if no other club is interested.
