Didn't they also have some massive milestone game against Richmond and got flogged in the wet in front of a very low crowd?
I forget that one. There's been a lot of let downs for 1870.
I was on the Hawks board last week reading, amusingly someone said,
"Port exist to win premierships", "we win them."

Hahaha thats good!

Also Chad Cornes farewell game spanking, Kane Cornes retirement and 300th spanking despite being flag certainties. They put out most years.

Was that Kane's 300th and farewell? The one which was played at home because the club contrived to "rest" him against north a few weeks earlier?
2 different games the one v Richmond in the wet was in 2012 when they were celebrating their 2000th anniversary or something and a hopeless Tigers outfit knocked them off in front of 13000 faithful at footy park. Maybe Janus could help us with what exact milestone it was?

Kanes 300th was last year and Geelong smoked them at Adelaide oval. Or was it Richmond as well?

That fake crowd noise must have been played at a frequency only Tealsters can here.

BTW, how do you feel about Kicking for Chicken? Gets real cringeworthy when people with John Butcherlike footy ability take forever trying to get the ball into the giant bucket. Kochie must be spewing as those guys get more ground time than he does.

I was actually under the firm belief that faked/amplified crowd noises were created at Port Power games. I was there and I heard them. :)
Just like all their other myths - they live in some type of bizarro world and if they repeat some crap over and over again, it becomes their truth.

They don't even need mind bending drugs - they're naturally that way inclined.

I remember that anniversary match against Richmond well. It was pouring the entire game, probably the wettest AFL match at AAMI, Port only managed about 3 goals for the match and Jack Riewoldt starred with as many.

I will possibly be as clueless as the rest of us initially ;) Although not as clueless as the idiots on 5AA just now. They think even if the players are found guilty, they have been punished enough and any punishments would be directed towards the club admin. Um nope, that isn't how this hearing works. The admin haven't been charged with anything because they can't be under the WADA code. They are the ones ultimately responsible for what happened at Essendon, but it is the way of the code that they can't be punished and the onus is purely on the athlete (this has changed a bit with the new code in place where support staff can also finally face appropriate penalties in relation to an athlete doping).

Also the players have never had a guilty finding, so if they are, this will be the first time a punishment can be metered out to them. There might some reduction in penalty because of the couple of weeks they decided not to play but keep training, but.. *shrugs* who knows what is going to happen?

IMO no less than 24 months suspension to 31st Dec 2017 plus Jobe stripped of his Brownlow would be acceptable given the players co-operation with asada lol
however i'm cynical and think they'll get off with effectively no penalty and if that happens, then I hope that there is a god up there to administer true justice :) and all those players develop some auto-immune disease down the track - then we'll see if the thymomodulin they reckon they took has any latent beneficial value.

No it wasn't. It was a crescendo of noise that was played as the ball was being bounced in the centre square after a goal. As I said it was there in 2014 but I don't know if they still did it in 2015. Do they still have that God awful Crow squwark? Does the Crow squark show that recorded noise is something the Crows do on matchday?
You twit - the crows squawk is made by the crowd live. If you had attended any showdown or crows game you would know damn well.

The Richmond game was in 2010 ... 10.17 (77) to 3.12 (30) we were spanked.. wet lol you needed flippers for that game.
It was Richmond again ... 33 points

I think he i talking about Triggys loud squawark that we played after every goal for our first few games at A.O accompanied by the flying crows and lights. Definitely happens live in the crowd as well but Triggy had it pumping for the first few games then it was turned down for the rest of 2014 and abandoned in 2015.

That was an extraordinary! However 119 was the highest ever margin in a grand final infront of millions of people
And would have been more had Geelong kicked straight. It was on Fox the other day, first 15 minutes were relatively even and then bang. Funny thing is Symes was one of their better players.

And on 119, I taped it on Foxtel IQ, I watched 3/4s and came back another time to finish it. The mins on the clock when I restarted it? 119.

What was the anniversary in 2010?
2010 was the year Mark Williams quit/sacked from Port in July and Primus was the next coach and then the wheels fell off.
Along came Ken Hinkley and things improved until both Clubs moved to Adelaide oval..
Just for interest... record-low 19,910 average for home games at Football Park in 2012, the last season of the tarps, to a club record-high 43,550 in the opening season of Adelaide Oval

It helps when you are winning. What do you think your average would be at AO if you had similar years?

That's a hard one to answer because of a lot of changes to Port. New Chairman, CEO and Coach and Adelaide Oval being more Central... 2015 Port crowd average was 43,794.. We will have to see what happens next few years...
Both Adelaide and Port average crowd numbers have increased since Adelaide Oval thank gawd..

You've got the same fickle supporters though plus a few new ones who have jumped on the AO bandwagon. They will be the first to drop off as they are less of a supporter.

The lucky thing is interstate visitors won't stop coming
