And if the players get their "way over " the inflation rate pay rise , tickets prices will skyrocket - it will be just the excuse the AFL need

Food and drinks increase are just plain greed
beers would be 5 bucks if people refused to pay 6.

its not greed driving the prices up, its the people who will pay $8 for a soggy bucket of chips regardless of how angry they are about it.

The majority of muso's work their arses off for little reward. People ripping their music off is completely immoral ("not particularly moral" is like being a "little bit pregnant"). Sure the top whatever % are making squillions and it won't hurt them, but the majority are not. No different to ripping movies. While you might think "oh the stars don't need it" but what about all the extras that are in or work on that movie? You are ripping them off too.

Actually they all get paid. In Hollywood it is often beneficial to lose money on the creation (Production costs) of it as there are very beneficial tax incentives to do so for producers and studios who have put up the budget. So everyone gets paid, but the producers then get more money back from governments for losing money! The money is made on movies on them being shown in cinemas and selling the distribution rights. Studios are no longer releasing these amounts spent but it is pretty well known that they are spending more than 50% on the total Production costs just in marketing the movie. Also the cinema distribution contracts have then paying the studio the vast majority of the ticket price in the first two weeks. After that (and the marketing drying up) it reverts to more being paid to the cinema for the ticket price than the studio. The movie industry is one of the worst about protecting it's own brand and money flow while fleecing governments for tax breaks and incentives. Go back and look at the lobbying they did in the US to try and stop VCRs being made available to the general public back in the 80s. Do you tape footy games? According to the Studios and TV Channels, they were the first 'pirates' and would destroy the industry. (This is my area of study).

I remember. Even cassette tapes and taping from the radio was frowned upon. Twin Deck systems were a big no-no as you could then tape for friends. Its why the law shifted to include'' for home use only''.

Figured I'd find some people who agree with me here on this outside the Melbourne board.

Anyone else find it ironic Dangerfield turned down much larger $$$ offers from you guys and (Reportedly) us to go to Geelong, now he is leading the AFLPA in the battle for a much higher pay packet?
Ask the Costa brothers how well Patty's doing.....

He should also spruik the loyalty bonus that Rory was having an idea about.

No, he's just selflessly working for his flock! :)

Not really no

Interesting comments by the Police Commisioner, no negotiation with them about handing himself in until 11am, but said through the media he heard Port did.

Also mentions when Impey was stopped with the bike that they hadn't finished investigations and Impey wasn't wanted for questioning yet and Impey didn't disclose the accident. So he had an opportunity to come clean and didn't.

I have a feeling they will go in reasonably hard as he can't use a defence of panicking when hours later he still didn't come clean when he had the chance.

Let me guess, men should also never talk about their feelings or cry or hug another man or wear pink or drink white wine or go to the theatre?

No, they should. I do all those things (salmon pink ties only). They just shouldn't broadcast it all over the internet in a desperate cry for attention. Teenage girls do that.

I doubt Ian Curtis (one of my idols) on his final night on earth, if had the chance, would have rushed to his Instasnapdorkchat account and written 'OMG LOL just watched Stroszek and listened to Iggy Pop - hashtag friyay lol'. He was a man's man

Looking most likely GWS not going to suffer any penalty via the draft methinks...

Geez, the AFL really struggle to make timely decisions under Gil. At least Andy D made decisions.

Wonder if Gil can make a decision before next year's trade period. If his salary was linked to decisions, he would virtually be working for free.

If GWS look to get off because apparently clubs should not be responsible for their own staff lol, then other clubs should appeal or we ask for our lost picks back.

Bloody laughable Gil was appointed as CEO. Who was on the interview panel as they obviously asked no leadership questions...

AFL have form on this though. Melbourne wasn't punished for Bailey and Connolly tanking.
