Stats are stats whatever.

Stengle who played in Sa's forward fifty and considered late/rookie chance got 18, 13, 6, 13 possessions.
ladhams late / rookie ruck - 12, 13,11, 10.
b cox (tall defender) - 16, 16, 10, 8 @ ridiculously high disposal efficiency.
My hero d clarke! - 26, 24, 26, 23.

Anyway it has to mean something that Stengle can get more of the ball than Hayward in the same forward line.

Oh I agree. Based on what I've seen I would be pretty surprised if he went that early. Just that Fyfe was hardly a real standout prior to being drafted.
I agree fyfe is an amazing athlete but I dont rate him as highly a some, his disposal is often ordinary. Does kick some nice goals on the run close to goal and is a great mark.

Brett anderson in his latest inside football has us taking simpkin hayward or logue with our first and probably second pick. If english slips we will also take him

Good read has individual strengths and weaknesses for each player

Would like that with simpkin 1st pick. Logue/English 2nd pick. then use picks 30/31 on 2 mids.

Villis has the same or similar condition as former fremantle player Jayden Pitt has which ultimately lead to his premature retirement.

Poor bastard. Could be worse I suppose

There was this great story recently where an American basketballer got diagnosed with a heart condition that meant he could never play professional basketball 2 days before the draft but the NBA commish 'drafted' him at the end of the first round. A token gesture but meant he got to walk on stage and be acknowledged with his family there and he was even available as a free agent on the nba2k series when that came out. How the **** a bomb blast in some country draws a shake of the head but anything sports or dog related will get the tears going for me is something I'll never figure out.

Nathan Eagleton was another who had a heart condition, although that was Wolff-Parkinson syndrome. He collapsed on AAMI stadium with no-one near him, I happened to be looking in that direction at the time. A free was awarded as he was an extra man in the square. I can't remember but I would hope it was overturned when he was stretchered off. He completed that season for us and was then traded to the Bulldogs for Brett Montgomery and pick #28. After 56 games in 3 seasons for us he played 221 in 11 seasons for the Western Bulldogs.

Hombsch Austin Logue is the perfect modern backline. Ermagerd

I think our KPD stocks are fine. We need (good) KPFs to grow our team around.

The thing about Logue is he has a serious tank and has gone into the midfield and gone well. At worse he could be an A grade defender at best the midfield player we dream of. No club has ever complained about having too many tall defenders to choose from. That's a worse case scenario.

Ready made key defender, who has also had success as a big bodied midfielder at Under-18 level.

Ripper story about the fella and what he overcame

Jarrod Berry overcomes ample adversity throughout journey to 2016 AFL draft

JARROD Berry won’t be taken with Pick 1 in November’s national draft — although he is expected to be selected within the first round, such is his talent and potential.

But if there was an AFL draft based purely on character, Berry would go No. 1 — and clubs would go to extraordinary lengths to trade up the order so they had the first selection to take him.

Few of this year’s draftees — in fact any at all — have endured more adversity over the past three years than the talented and courageous running half-back from the North Ballarat Rebels.

In 2014, Berry’s family was hit hard when he lost his mum to cancer, leaving a husband and three sons behind. He had planned to move from Horsham to a school in Ballarat, but his mum’s passing encouraged him to stay in his home town to support his family.

If Logue and Hayward go before our pick that should really open a couple gun midfielders at 14,17 or even Scrimshaw who i really like so id pass on Marshall

This is why I think he'll end up at Port. Kern loves the character picks.

So............... What's the go with your first and second pick? Haywrd's rise in the draft order is intriguing! He's possibly a top 10 pick now. Best available with maybe Marshall as your second, then whatever midfield sliders come through with those 30's picks? Scharenberg etc.

It's becoming very interesting.
We really need quality mids, but it seems as though one or two of Logue, Marshall and Hayward might come into consideration with our first couple of picks.

If we got Logue, Marshall/Hayward, Gallucci and Atley, that wouldn't be an all-round bad effort and may still be in the realms of possibility.

No one is taking Hayward top ten or picking him before Marshall if looking for a forward.
Think the club have said looking for a player who could have an immediate impact ( I think?) Berry probably ticks the box's, Alex Witherden mentioned and makes perfectly good sense as well, Griffin Logue has to be an attractive option. Marshall slides I guess we have to take him with one of the picks but I hope we are choosing between Berry, Witherden and Logue with our first couple of picks.
