Im usually all for quality over quantity, but in this case I think i'd prefer to rookie Reynolds instead of taking Hayward. Especially in the first round.

You could spend that Hayward pick on a quality midfielder who would allow us to release Robbie Gray into the forward lines.

Robbie Gray is one of the top few midfielders in the competition, why would want to 'release' him into the forward lines?

I think it's more about having the freedom to play Gray up forward as needed so he can be a 40 goal midfielder instead of a 25 goal midfielder.

I think the best example of this point is the 3rd quarter of the Semi Final against Freo in 2014. We had a fully functional midfield with a great spread of contribution from Ollie, Boak, Hartlett, Broadbent, Ebert and Wingard which allowed for us to put Gray forward for the entire quarter.

I think Robbie Gray is such an opportunist forward that you almost have to throw him forward at times if you have the midfield depth. In the midfield he is a top 5 midfielder, in the forward line he is a game changer, it's seems unfair to deprive either of his abilities.

Going back to the Fremantle game. In the 3rd quarter Robbie Gray is the direct target of a kick into 50 6/12 times. He was involved in 5/10 scoring shots in that quarter (2 degrees of separation), and he received 3 free kicks. Oh and he kicked 4 goals, absolutely immense.

According to the AFL player ratings Dangerfield is the #1 midfielder in the comp.

Robbie Gray is the #1 midfielder-forward in the comp.

Interestingly Justin Westhoff is rated as the #3 Key Forward in the comp which took me by surprise :)

Westhoff should be excluded from statistical analysis, he is a legitimate anomaly.

This is one of the more critic things I have ever read.

What I think you are saying is that we may or may not draft Marshal?
Haha it was poorly written

I'm saying I'm not interpreting what geoff parker said as we're not taking a tall forward as others have

Well there is one thing that stands out like ...

is that nothing our recruiters do will be right. The opinions here are so varied and strong, that every choice they make is going to piss off someone!

After watching 3 minutes of player highlights we are all experts!:$

You gotta love it!

In the end I will be most interested in Macca, Knightmare and Portia's opinions, I hope all 3 are happy on the night.

Why do I feel like we are going to draft Parfitt.

ugh

Parfitt is good. He's a better Caleb Daniel, and he goes alright.

I'd be happy if we got him with 30/31.

Honestly I don't think we can mess up this draft much at all. 14 and 17 is such a great position for this reason.

Witherden, Hayward, Simpkin, Galluci, Poholke, Marshall, Berry, SPP. It really sounds like we'd be happy with any of em at 14/17.

Most experts still say Marshall a lock and Witherden/Hayward

This seems to have become a consistent message in the past few days. Maybe Dylan Clarke at 30 too.

The past few years the players we have been heavily linked to, think Impey, Johnson, Houston and Frampton, we have actually picked (although sometimes not with the pick they are tipped to go at).

No he's not. Maybe he gets more of the ball than Daniel, but Daniel is one of the best ball users in the AFL and Parfitt isn't even one of the best ball users in Div 2 U18's.

personally i think the Crows will go for Gallucci (i wouldnt mind this guy also) and we will have a choice of SPP or Berry, the safe choice is Berry but SPP has more potenial, wouldnt mind marshall at 17 or if hes gone the best mid available, pick 30 and 31 should be used on a forward if we dont get marshall or the 2 best mids if we do, if think veneables might slide to this pick

I think his ball use can be fixed. I reckon he suffers from a case of the Clangerfields where he doesn't slow down enough before he disposes of the ball and his momentum ****s up his depth perception.

I'm with Quigley - I reckon he'll be a star. I wouldn't go for him with 14 or 17, but at 30/31 he's be worth the risk IMO.

I listened to SEN the other day when they interviewed Perryman, fair to say as a player I want him as a team mate, he is a card. Best interview I have heard since Rory Sloane at Draft Camp.
