Ahern ey? What's he like?

According to BF:

WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH ISAAC HEENEY?

His manager Ben Williams is on NAB AFL Trade Radio right now. The Sydney Swans young gun's contract will expire at the end of next season and he will be highly sought after if the Swans don't extend him soon.

Williams said contract talks have not yet begun. He expects them to begin either over the summer or early next year.

Other than Nathan Fyfe (who will also enter the last season of his current deal), Heeney will likely be the most sought after player at the end of next year. There could be some nervous times ahead for Swans fans.

I would be so disappointed if we are not among the clubs in his ear about a multi year $800,000+ offer. We should even throw in the keys to the coffee cart.

"David Swallow to North. Announced in coming days"

I very rarely give any news from 'sources'....probably because I don't have any.

However I was told this morning by someone who does that it's legit and from North.

Could be wrong and I'm not even sure about it either, knowing his injury history.

Depends what we give up i guess.

I suspect this is the deal that scooby1279 has been dropping hints about.

If so, get excited. David is a 20% better player than Andrew at his best. And Andrew won 3 B&Fs when at his best.

Of course at his best he is a gun as you say and best to be positive - just hope he can get himself fit as we already have quite a few talented but injury prone types.

As long as it involves next seasons first rounder.

I really really want to hit this draft.

I'm also as concerned with Swallow's injury history as I would have been with O'Meara.

1.1 million a year, 6 years.

Sydney - goldy, swallow, mckenzie, black, hanson, pick 11.

North - Heeney

**** it...We'll play with 30 players next year.

On Ahern's knee, I had knee issues and went to see David Young, who is probably the leading Knee Surgeon for a number of AFL clubs.

He had the opinion that you can do 1 knee or 4 and it won't matter. The reason players lose pace etc is if the rest of the leg has deficiencies that cause the knee injury. Most are able to strengthen these areas and are ok but in some cases, like Ox, you need to rebuild the legs to cope. Similar to how Duck had to change his shoulder mass to ensure the shoulder didn't come out of the socket all the time. That is when it can career threatening.

Edit: building the leg means working on the stabilising muscles, ligaments etc to ensure the stabilising strength is there. Quads are particularly important in stabilising suspect knees.

Not next years first, we will likely have a top 10 pick next year, wouldn't pay for than 2 seconds.

Looks like North are into Hrovat now. This forms part of the new annual strategy at the club: Step 1) Look at who won the Premiership; Step 2) Find out who is their 30th ranked player; Step 3) Recruit said 30th ranked player; Step 4) Blindly select 30th ranked player on a weekly basis in starting 22 despite a complete lack of match fitness or form.
Yeah, we get it. You don't rate Jed.

They'd demand a first rounder for him easy. This is meant to be a mids draft and next season KP. If it cost a first it suits us more for it to be next years.

I'd rather stay away altogether though. Can't believe we're still speculating about this trade.
