anyone know much about Darcy Cameron who plays for Claremont? 15 games/29goals 204cms

That's the name I was going to mention when you asked the question above. Am sure he'll be on the radar for a few teams - kinda surprised he didn't get taken by anyone last year.

Kinda plays the Rory Lobb role - around 3/4 of his game time in the forward line and 1/4 in the ruck.

Would throw a late pick at him for sure.

Otherwise the only other WAFL player who could play a similar role I can think of is Mason Shaw (ex Port player) - but he's not as tall and doesn't ruck as often (only averaging 2.5 hitouts per game this year).

Lots of articles coming out this afternoon that Hibberd is now a done deal. Four years

I honestly don't know enough about Hibberd to know if this is a good thing or not.

Mind you, if we play Hibberd and Milkshakes as rebounding defenders, at least it means Salem and Vince go up to the midfield, which I like very much.

I (probably incorrectly) posted this on the General MFC discussion thread, but would love some genuine feedback on what people think market value would be...

Let's just imagine for a moment that a Club comes in with a big offer for BOTH T & O Mac; what would they need to offer? Baring in mind that as our midfield continues to develop, a tall backline of Frost, Dunn & Garland for 12 months isn't necessarily a complete nightmare..

I think the replacements should be brothers. So maybe Brad and Matt Crouch or maybe the Merretts.

Actually I don't like the idea of T and O Mac leaving our backline at all. I'm warming to O, and I get pretty energised shouting at TMac's persistent at-least-one-ludicrous-kick-directly-to-oppo-who-goals performance each match. I think I would feel unsettled if they left.

Plundering of that sort would set off a lot of alarm bells in terms of feeder clubs. It would basically cement the concept that some clubs get raw talent in and develop it (by playing them and hence being shit) then bigger clubs come along and assimilate that talent in its mature form.

If we got picks for both of them we'd be worse off. Even 2 top 10 picks would leave us with another 3-4 years of development. Short of replacing them like for like, this move would leave us worse off.

And yes, I am growing fond of yelling at Oscar on game day

A top 10 pick and a 2nd rounder.

A top 10 pick and a 2nd rounder.
Pretty much this.

And FWIW noone has mentioned that Roosy himself said TMac will stay yesterday

Yeah I don't think they will go, I'm just curious as to what we would expect in return if they did.

I think a 1st, a 2nd and a key defender with 2-4 years left would be the minimum

Take it with a truck load of salt but

Might be going against the grain, but I'd hate to see us have three ex-essendon players take up spots in our backline in 2017. Sort of thing can fracture a playing group have a new coach bring his pets over to his new club. You'd imagine Hibberd and Hurley would be asking top dollar as well. Yeah it'd be great to have Hurley but I just can't take that the three best answers to our backline troubles all happen to be players that Goodwin has coached. Smacks of nepotism in a way.

I've seen this stuff before with Mick and Daisy, Ross and Zac, even our own Mark Neeld and Iron Hands. I'm skeptical to say the least.

For the record I think Hurley stays at Essendon. People talking about T Mc to the swans so if that was the case then I like the idea of Hurley but apparently (if you believe the talk) Hibberd is on his way.

I don't understand how it could be a done deal. Unless there's a gentlemans agreement behind doors. We still have to get a trade done. I don't think a second rounder will do it. Anf it's essendon we're dealing with.

I'm not sure how we'd satisfy the dons in a trade for both of them anyway, unless we try to push the walk for free clause. Maybe 2017 1st rounder + 2016 2nd, but even that might not be enough, plus it'd leave us without a first rounder for two straight years which is a risky proposition.

Not a fan of this as it means we can't trade 2018 or 2019 1sts in order to satisfy the 4 year clause going forward

Don't think it happens without us giving up a talented player - would rather we don't considering we have players at KPB that our coaches clearly rate if we have to give up a Salem type (which Essendon will go after).

Jeez i'll be pissed if we give up our 2nd rounder or a player like Salem for a 27yo B grader having already traded our first. Taylor hasn't put a foot wrong with drafting so far, give him a decent pick in a deep draft please.

Will certainly be interesting. Ess can't overvalue as they risk losing them both as delisted FA. They have also said they will assist any player who wants to leave. We won't lose anything we aren't prepared to give up.

Yeah they say this to sound supportive but they'll only assist if they're grossly overcompensated.
