The 3 year part is the thing that gets him over the line - I actually don't reckon the club is banking on him playing all 3 years - maybe 2 at most. But a 2 year deal wouldn't have got it done.Am I the only one concerned that we are offering Lewis a 3 year deal??? He is way past his peak as a footballer. I honestly felt his last year would have been next season along with Mitchell and Hodge, maybe Gibson. He looked slow, I mean really slow towards the end of the season, having less impact on games. Happy to give a third rounder for him, and maybe a 2 year deal, but 3 is excessive.
As for Rockliff, my friend at the Lions says he is zero chance of being at the Dees next season. I have no idea where these rumours start. We've been linked to Danger, Parker, Kennedy, Prestia etc etc over the years and they have all just been rumours. F*** I hate trade period!
Danger and Prestia make sense, we tried to trade for them.Am I the only one concerned that we are offering Lewis a 3 year deal??? He is way past his peak as a footballer. It would be 2 years with triggers for a 3rd I would think and hope.Am I the only one concerned that we are offering Lewis a 3 year deal??? He is way past his peak as a footballer. You don't see any difference between those guys and someone finishing 2nd in a top 4 clubs B&F approaching the club (rather than us approaching him) and choosing us when another club (Gold Coast) had more money on the table and his current team want him to stay on?2012: Clark
2013: Dawes
2014: Mitchie, Riley, Cross
2015: Lumumba, Newton
2016: Kennedy, Bugg
Lewis is a list clogging sook gifted the 2nd place in our B&F to boost his trade value from 90 to 89. I hope he gets smashed the first game he plays against us......but most likely he will snipe someone the week before to get suspended...

Happy to get Lewis on the cheap. As others have said, having a bloke who knows how to stay calm in the late stages of a tight game is something we really lack. I assume the 3 years would be a Cross like deal as a transition to a coaching or development role after playing? Anyway, solid pickup.
Any Hawks supporter saying that is a deadshit. It's either a third rounder or a fringe player.Agree. Our kids need to learn how to win - Lewis is going to offer superb leadership in this area. Takes the pressure off our young kids as well. MFC has a history of overworking their young guns so the slow and steady approach is the lasting approach.
If we trade Lewis for a late pick I'll be stoked. Hating this talk from Hawks supporters re: Hunt and Frost - two non-negotiables as far as I'm concerned.
the sheer entitlement of Hawthorn fans knows no bounds. They desperately need a lesson in humilityThe melts
