Three premiership players from the 2005 draft and Birch is still playing. They have an article on the 2005 draft on the Hawthorn site. Bloody hell we bombed out there (given our draft picks).
2017 might even be better

Fingers toes and everything else crossed. Looks like a player, so no doubt someone will take an earlier punt.Is it fanciful to think he could slip to us? Seems an ideal addition and has the tools to work with to become valuable at either end as a senior footballer. Has OK speed, but you can work on that, I like him.
I love the fact that he's a hunter. You can see that if he doesn't win the ball, he has eyes only for the person that did. That animal instinct you can't coach into a player.Brett Anderson has Krueger going well after our first pick.
I hope we take that kid.
I wonder what his issues are?Brett Anderson has Krueger going well after our first pick.
I hope we take that kid.
Was told a poor decision maker by a recruiter.I wonder what his issues are?
Bwhahahhaha....he is in the top 10% of the results in the combine, 21.7 in the yoyo...good skills ( a lot better than his team mate Bailey Banfield), tough, played mid with Powell-Pepper and Seton in 2016, versatile and from good stock...could play first up.
This would be a pretty good get. Definitely hearing we are into Tom North. Most phantom drafts have Roughsedge and Guelfi going rookie or undrafted. As rookie selections I think those two would be incredible.
I'm actually shocked Krueger may fall to our first pick. He's Bontempelli 2.0: not as consistent at this time in development but has all the attributes and has torn games apart. I think his versatility has actually limited his consistency, as he's constantly being played in a multitude of positions (halfback, wing, half-forward, even KPF) rather than being allowed to concentrate on just one. If he slides we take him in a heartbeat.
Noah Answorth another late prospect. Injury stuffed up his whole year: he's a tough halfback with speed and kicking skills. Think Zac Jones with better disposal. Has scope to move into the midfield.
Personally:
First Pick: Nathan Krueger
Second Pick: Noah Answorth
Third Pick: Tom North
Rookie One: Guelfi
Rookie Two: Roughsedge
Considering our late draft position those players would have incredibly high ceilings. Save the forwards and backs for next draft.
?Starting to see what some have said about the Hawks feeling like there are some gems in this draft.
Hope this kid is on the radar at #43.
A poster on the draft board thinks that although he's been played as a fwd (196cm) his best position might be as an inside mid.
This footage looks fantastic.
Quick, agile, tough and skilled.
He's #24.

I guess that's why highlights are just that. All this shows is that he has a very high ceiling. It doesn't give us insight into what kind of kid he is, how consistent he is outside of one game, his work ethic, best position etc etc.Holy Jeebus
How does this kid not go at #1???
Only way he doesn’t go waaaayyyyy before our 1st Pick is if recruiters think he’s already reached his peak, but even then - There’s plenty of excitement in that peak!
Will be a star!
Knightmare mentioned on Twitter this morning that Noah Balta may now slide as well and mentioned 20-50 as his range.I put in a post earlier in this thread saying we should wait until next year to get our talls. I believe that is true in terms of our forwards. But I am now certain this draft is flat. There are options in every other position.
While these next set of blokes that I am showing may not be my first choice to draft, It would be a coup to get them:
Talls:
Pick 43: Cavarino (an intercepting marking CHB who is not quick)
Pick 68: Butts or Kreugar. (Enough said on both and probably both gone)
Pick 73: Miller: touted as a forward / ruck but I like him for full back
Pick 78: we may yet use it if the right player is available.
This group of talls would be awesome.
I had thought Harrison Petty would make this list of talls but on review ... Naaa
To be clear, this group is not likely to be available at the picks I have put them at. I am just saying that it is possible to get a set of talls in this draft with our picks.

Surely he's gone before 43 but someone else to follow on the night!
Pick 43: Best Available
Pick 68: Kyren Hayden
Pick 75: Best Available
Rookie 1: Project KPP
Rookie 2: Best available
Think Hawks will be all over Hayden if he’s there at 68. Great midfield talent
