I've had it. It was excruciating and felt like my head was being sawn off. I was on a drip in hospital for a few days and plenty of pain killers. We already have an "Injuries" thread focusing on our players and their injuries sustained during games. I thought it might be a worthwhile thing to discuss players sustaining injuries or health conditions off-field.
The format is both a news update for the general Crows fans, as well as brief discussions on relevant conditions whenever they occur.
Viral Meningitis (eg. Tom Lynch)
What is it? - A viral condition which attacks the covering layer of the brain, causing inflammation.
Symptoms?
- Headaches, drowsiness
- sensitive to light
- neck stiffness
- fevers
- nausea/vomiting
- general weakness; joint aches
This thread is not hopefully to scare people, but hopefully gives more insight into players conditions (not during games), and perhaps raise more health awareness. Anyone who has ever suffered from conditions on this thread, feel free to share your experiences or some important relevant points.
Lots of darkness for a week or so. I eventually came good after a few weeks (as good as I could come) and have had no issues. He will make a full recovery.
