No alas involved. I'm delighted that we don't have that second rounder.
And she appeared in the Brady Bunch albeit with another spelling, Alice Nelson.

Aiden Bonar shapes as an athletic KPF who will be hanging around the draft boards late in the piece. Slid down rankings and a lot of people forgot about him due to his knee. Had a knee reco that didn't actually heal properly and forced him to have another reconstruction to amend the previous surgery.

~191-193cm pacy and got a great leap and leans back and puts them through from 60m's out. Hate to burden the kid with this but he looks more like Buddy then any other potential draft pick I've ever seen. Athletic, strong and got a racking right foot, if not for the knee he'd been in top 10 (if not top 5) discussions easy.

Think he caught a few eyes on the weekend. Wouldn't be surprised if someone takes a punt on him in the second round.

You might be onto something.

Impossible what we'd say if Bonar was playing next to Cox

:p

Interesting to see how recruiting team approaches draft considering the review and some questionable past picks/trades.
Speculative Vs safe?

I bet someone takes Brander the pick before us.
Be interesting to see where he falls. Will Freo take a bloke from Victoria? Will he go earlier than Freo's pick?

The other question will be, do we hold on to our top 10 pick or trade it out for 2 late first rounders?

Bet they dont......

How much are we betting?
I'd be shocked if Freo don't grab Brander if he's available tbh, and they're the pick before us.

For some reason my mind went straight to Lee Walker...we gave up pick 12 for him
I remember Walker. He could have been anything without those dodgy knees...

I think they just pick best player available with only caveat (if it's in the ball park) key position.

Eg: let's say the next player available was thought by the recruiters to be the next Patrick Dangerfield and the next best key forward type was thought to be the next Jessie White, you'd pick Dangerfield clone, no?

Far fetched example but that's the way to roll I'd imagine.

It would be good if we can get ourselves back into the 2nd round with a pick around the 25 mark.

Even better if someone like a Callum Coleman-Jones was to still be available.

I see Twomey doesn't have him in his top 25.

I'll be happy with any of Brander, Fogarty or Stephenson at pick 6 with Balta as the smokey.

Are the track watchers certain Brander isn't one of these vanilla type key position players like a Nathan Brown?

Let's say that is how the picks actually went.
For those who follow the TAC and potential draftees, what would you prefer. Paying truck loads for Lever or picking up Brander for peanuts. (money wise)
For the life of me I can't understand why so many people are willing to pay so much for Lever when we can just go to the draft and potentially nab Brander.

If we got to pick 5 and both Brander and Naughton were we're still available then I'd be very happy taking whichever one Freo didn't tbh.

Fingers crossed it works out that way on draft day - the one fly in the ointment is that we need Rockliff to either stay put or be traded - I can't see any of the other clubs ahead of us in the draft order losing someone to free agency who might get them a first round pick back in return as compensation.

I'm guessing the argument is that you know Lever will at least be a decent long-term contributor as he has proven ability and untapped potential at AFL level, whereas almost any KPP in the draft is a relatively unknown quantity.

That said I'd much prefer to take the "risk"" and go the draft as Lever isn't the type we really need.
