From the limited viewing I've had of him that's no surprise. He seemed a bit of a speculative type right from my first viewing of his game. Interesting comparison with Gunston too mainly because it wasn't how I would have described his game early year.
Also what's the knock on Balta in your opinion? I'm looking at a thin KPP group which includes this kid that can play virtually any position on the ground, has the production behind him, has the talent and has this really unique skill set for a KPD yet despite that is still largely considered a 15+ pick.
Is it his short to mid range kicking (because he bombs it)? His attitude? His workrate? His coachability? Are clubs skittish of going early on KPD's? Or is it something completely off broadway like the word pre-draft on Blakely or McKenzie's problems? I fear that clubs are playing their cards real close to their chest and post trade period he'll rise up the rankings once info is leaked to Twomey, Anderson and co after we've traded down thinking he'll be there. At 6 we have options, but at 12 we're in the lap of the gods KPP wise when we have a serious need to fill the role and I'd personally have Balta top 3 on our draft board.
I actually dont have any knock on Noah for whatever reason i think the narrative on him is wrong. I think he has had a terrific year and when you stack it up vs a BRander I reckon you can make an argument he is ahead of him.....and possibly Naughton. The fact Brander has had decent games as a forward has him up there but Balta last month was v good.
