Do you reckon clubs would be even more wary of him than what they were of Darling? Cause where I'm sitting I'd be very happy taking him if he's there at 38.
I'd take him at 38 but wouldn't actively trade my way up to get him. The fact that he doesn't have a dominant position worries me, Would much prefer a settled #1 key defender like Harry Petty.

Fogarty should be in that mix he played through the champs with a meniscus tear. No wonder he appeared to labour its a wonder he played at all tbh.

IF Brander is gone then Forgarty probably fits our Needs the Most

It's possible - the "logical" choice for them would have been Naughton, but iof they're going to get pick 2 and take a midfielder to replace Weller then it's possible that they could address the ruck position with pick 5.

Maybe this might mean Fogarty falls into out lap?

There is rumours Freo are heavily into Fogarty as well. :'( Can see them swiping him from us...damn those last season wins that mean jack shit now...

GOD, he blows the wind through the goals every time a pie kicks at them so that the ball goes straight...straight through the behinds posts.

The last few years he's extended it to the whole ground. He blows a sudden gust just as the ball is released in the ball drop thus causing kicks all over the ground to spray higgedly piggedly.

Would comparisions between Fogarty and Charlie Curnow be far off the mark?
It's not far off but Fogarty plays a bit smaller like who a lot of people compare him to - peak Jake Stringer. Curnow to me is more like Bontempelli but a forward version instead.

Wouldn’t that be amazing...

We walk away with Coffield and Balta

Then our work is done.

Then a little dabble around the place and likely the Brown T.

Lynch next year?

I couldn't give a rats arse if Balta played up a bit as an 18 year old kid. As long as he didn't do anything reprehensible.
Like barrack for Carlton;)

More versatile then Stringer and more brutish in packs.
Pretty much.

Stringer is probably the best comparison but I don't think they're actually that close still. There really isn't a player like Fogarty currently in the AFL which makes it extremely tempting to select him at 6.

I'm now sold. Does he have an explosive first few steps? I've been picturing him as a strong brute who is a bit one paced.
And is it transferable to playing against men rather than U/18 boys?

They might end up with pick 2 if they work that into the Weller trade via pick swaps etc. Doubt that they'd take Fogarty that high. That might work out better for us.

You won't see him coming

He was playing well in SANFL against man prior to injury from all reports.

He has enough pace to break away but he's not a speedster per se.

I strained my meniscus at the start of the year (suspected small tear ) and it took weeks just to be able to freely bend my knee with out using my arms to grab it and help bring it in (like when getting in and out of the car or bed).

The fact he played through one actually shows great will power even if in the last game vs metro he looked to have dropped his head after getting repeated treatment off the ball or any time he went near it.

Going off his highlights in champs is unfair as he would of lost a lot of power and drive playing with a meniscus tear. Hopefully our recruiters keep this in mind. Even still he displayed a turn of pace at times in the allies game see below.

Against VC showed other attributes like being quarter back in defence taking kick outs and kicking 55m already.

HE is capable in all 3 roles of fwd, mid and back. A lot of strings to his bow.
