Life's not fair in a lot of ways. Easy for us to be dispassionate and make a call, and I agree with you. If I were Stephenson though i'd be feeling pretty shitty about it and keen to prove people wrong.

My favourite memory from any draft night was from 2009 when a poster that I can’t remember sorry, took a photo of Ross Lyon’s reaction when collingwood read out Luke Ball as our pick 29 after he famously said good luck getting to collingwood as he walked out of the trade negotiations.

Yeah that was me. I probably still have it somewhere, but finding the 2009 draft thread would likely be easier.

Throughout the years of watching Ball play for us, every time he did something good, myself and mate I go to games with would scream out “Thanks Ross” after the shenanigans that year. From memory after giving up pick 14 for Mr Block we offered both pick 29 and either Goldsack or Wellinngham and Ross decided to make a statement which ended up backfiring in the most amazing way
