For a weaker draft this should be a ripper to watch. Can’t remember one in recent times where sports journos were so conflicting with their top 20s. We literally have nfi who we are drafting.

I want the Fog*, but gut feel is Hine will grab Murphy or Naughton (possibly Coffield??).

*In saying that, for all we know the Fog could be this year’s Laverde.

Is our pick in the 70s in play now?
I don’t think so. Keane also posted the draft order and we don’t have #70. Our last pick is #61.

All with queries. Rayner (tank), Bonar (injuries), Naughton (kicking), Coffield (inside game), Fogarty (form), Stephenson (kicking), LDU (does he want it enough) and Murphy (what’s his role). The only guys I see as certainties are Dow, Brayshaw and Cerra. Even then are they top 3 on a list talents?
Bret Anderson was saying on SEN today that he doesn’t have Brayshaw in his top ten because he does a lot of things very well but doesn’t have any elite trait/s. I tend to agree, so if he goes higher it will be due to attitude and leadership.

Can’t see Brissie going for him at all unless Rayner said to them he flat out doesn’t want to go to Qld.

Guys that will themselves to the ball with bravery don't seem to get that counted as an elite trait in juniors for some reason. But guys like Selwood, Hodge and Maxwell have lifted their teams over the line time and again at AFL. It characterises them as players. Brayshaw has that about him. Should we value that more?

Probably the reason the Brions are having a sniff (if you believe the mail). They don’t exactly have born leaders queuing up at that rabble of a club. Even Beamsy who leads by example seems a reluctant captain. So would be a good fit.

Still.. you’d have to be pretty bonkers to pass on Rayner.

Most kids have queries on them in any draft, and most are not top three on a list at this stage, does not that mean any that you mentioned will not make a top of any list in the future though.
Nothing is certain at this stage, but l will back most of them in to around top five to ten in most clubs going forward

All of the players I named are expected to go top 10-12. I’ve never seen a draft with so many players at the top end with queries. In the end it means you’re right there are a plethora of players for us to pick from, but I think the assessment that it’s shallow when a guy like T Brown could receive a bid in the 30’s and only two genuine KPP’s will go top 20 is hard to argue.

Only to watch Stephenson become the Judd or Selwood of this draft over the coming years if he stays healthy.

Given his U18 performances, speed, endurance base and the highlights reel he just screams pick me.

He's D Thomas 2.0 for mine.

Not sure what I'm missing?
His heart.

If you put it like that, then l can agree, l think it’s more even draft, maybe not outstanding, but likely at the top 20 or so will get you a very good quality player that will be 100 -200 gamers with the right club, coaches, ect.
There is one or two on my limited knowledge of the kids who are top end.
So who ever we get will l will be happy with, cause there is some talent, but as you pointed out, with risk attached.

Collingwood
Draft picks: 6, 38, 56, 61 (likely to use four selections)

Collingwood has nominated Tyler Brown as a father-son pick, and there's a good chance a bid won't come before pick 38 for the medium midfielder who is the son of premiership Pie Gavin. That would be the ideal result for the club, but there are a few clubs who like him in that range. If the Pies go with a midfielder at No.6 they could look to add some key defenders to their mix later on. Noah Balta has been linked to the Magpies and has some genuine athletic qualities, while tall stopper Oscar Clavarino might be a solid selection with a pick later in the draft if the Pies want to bring in some depth in that area.

I doubt that one of the fab five makes it to 6. Stephensons heart condition concerns me. I wouldnt pick him imo. I honestly think we can find a good key defender at 38 be that Balta, Petty, Taylor, Butts, Clavarino. Surely atleast 1 of them will be there at 38. Id go Fogarty, Coffield, Richards, Bonar or Murphy at 6. Another key back or Farrell or someone like Farrell at 56 and finally Brown at 61.

Cerra and Balta would be fantastic.

Can't see either of them lasting until our picks though

I agree on Balta but North seems to be the 1 to Decide which 1 our of Cerra and Forgarty.

Though starting to sound like we will take Richards

Who do you see us going for at 6& 38

What it sounds like Richards is very good chance be our Pick 6. I hope we go Tall at our Next Draft Pick

We like the jurno’s are guessing. Looking at it there could be up to five that we could go for. Who knows, l know l don’t.

They have more Idea then most on here

If no bid comes for Brown, and a bargain falls down the order, could we potentially use pick 70 and take 5 players?
